Default Heater not working

I just recently got my thermostat changed in my car, now the heater doesnt work it just blows really cold air. The temp gauge goes up to normal operating temp though.

Any ideas as to whats causing this?

you probably need a new heater core.

which sucks, because its a pain in the *** to change.

Thats weird because it was working fine before the thermostat was changed..

maybe its a random coincidence.

the thermostat seems to be working fine since the car gets to normal operating temp.

typically with no warm heat blowing, its a heater core.

just a guess

easy way to check if heater is plugged

check the heater core hoses going through the firewaill to heater core behind it. Inlet and outlet hot, heater shoudl be good .. inlet hot, outlet not hot, then you got a blocked core

another think to check is the blend door operation...... when you switch from cold to hot temp the blend door should change to allow fresh air in (cold) or pull hot air from heater core side.. make sure it's switching

if it's not switching, check the heater control valve on firewall

hope this helps

Possible you got a faulty thermostat? Just seems weird that the heat was fine and that's only thing that's changed.

Just a thought.

sounds like either bad blower motors or blower motor resistors

you sure you bled all the air out of the cooling system? heater cores dont just go bad like that. if you had heat before you should have heat now.

im guessing there is still air in the system.

This is what happened; I had new lights, and had to rewire to original 9004 so I installed them one was working, one wasn't...anyways one night last summer my dumb *** friend decided to play around with the wiring, mine were all messy, so then all that I seen was spark and the next day this was the situation. The fan wasn't turning on at all! Even my wipers go retarded often, once I start them they don't stop until I turn off the car!

I dont drive my car in the winter so I decided to ignore the problem..any suggestions guys? I'm pretty sure I need to take it to an electrician now.

Thanks
