GSR gas mileage

Hey guys now that I've had my 98 GSR for a couple months now I am just curious how many km you guys get to the tank. I have been keeping track of it the last few time I filled up the tank and I get about 350km per tank. This is about 50/50 highway/city driving and of course hitting vtec here and there.

Looking for what numbers you guys are making (LS, GS, GSR and even Type R).

acurreo Jul 1, 2005 12:35 PM

530 KM per tank, I take it all the way. Not everyone has the balls to do that.

When I fill up, I fill 47 liters!

2001 GS-ahhR

DRT acura Jul 1, 2005 12:43 PM

92 RS 700+ km per tank (42L)

Oh damn...I gotta let my needle fall off to put that much gas in. When I fill up I'm putting in about 35 litres.

You take it that far and only get 530......

I get 450-500km when the light comes on.

engsr Jul 1, 2005 02:44 PM

My 01 GS-R used to go around 450-475 kms before the idiot light stayed on. Usually, you have about 10L left when it stays on, at least, that's what I found.

City driving, and mind you.. I tend to have a heavy foot.

How many litres of gas would you be putting in to go that many km?

acurreo Jul 1, 2005 03:11 PM

these numbers are based on a full tank, 50 liters.

SIC1 Jul 1, 2005 03:25 PM

If you want to be more precise use the fill you car up. drive 100 kms and fill up again. there for it will show you how many litres per 100km L/100KM so you know how much your average use and can tell if you are getting better or worse mileage. In most cases, it's mantainence. i.e. oic change, fuel filter, spark plugs, properly inflated tires. etc etc. Keep your car in good running order with proper maintainence and Gas mileage will be farthest thing on your mind... unless gas goes up to $1.50/litre by the end of this weekend.

It may also be as described in this thread - a 'lead' foot will cost you more so driving habits are usually the #1 when gas mileage is concerned. also city vs highway driving; aerodynamics (open windows & sunroof) and use of Air conditioning.

Manual usually gets more MPG or L/100KM.

again any of the other factors plays a role in gas consumption there fore affecting actual mileage.

google it.... http://www.itrsport.com/specifications.html

Fuel Economy

DaGizzer Jul 2, 2005 10:57 AM

I have a 2001 GS-R and do about 60% highway 40% city driving. I take it to about 460-480km before filling up. I put in usually 37-39L of Ultra 94 per fill up.

Why the hell does the gas light come on so early? Like at 375Km....And how many L is the gas tank?

SIC1 Jul 3, 2005 01:03 PM

OK I'm definitely going to have to let the light come on and be on for a while before I can actually put in close to 50 litres. I'm going to really push it this time before I fill up and see how many km I can go.

95integra Jul 10, 2005 02:36 PM

600km/Tank 95LS

96GSR Jul 10, 2005 05:25 PM

wow im only getting 420kms/tank...thought i was keeping up on my maintenance too

CdTriX Jul 10, 2005 06:15 PM

pussies and their small motors crying about gas..... =)

i do a whopping 400 kms / 65L tank of gas......
mind you i do have a 3.3L V6 Quad Cam from toyota... and it's RWD...
and i do weigh like 3000 lbs... =*(

the integra... gets 400 kms/30L ( i never run to the light... i don't think i ever have driven until the light comes on... )

my sister on the other hand... drains the gas tanks.. and then add 5 bucks...... *sigh*

LiLBlueBoy Jul 10, 2005 07:30 PM

omg, all you guys are doing alot more then i am

i get about 410
if i push it to the max, probably get no more then 450
i filled up to 40 liters

did maint. at 100000km (ie spark plugs, ignition wires, oil filter, dist. cap)
km now = 125000km

any suggestions?

WildoutWhiteGSR Jul 10, 2005 08:06 PM

It's a 50 liter tank, you still have 10 liters. Oh and 02 sensor makes a huge difference.

95integra Jul 11, 2005 08:50 AM

I get about 600km/tank..with a messed up O2 Sensor, Bad Distributer, And A hole In my manifold. All this will be fixed soon tho.

96vtec Jul 11, 2005 11:04 AM

Unless you're on the highway all the time, I find it hard pressed that a GSR would be doing any better than 500 combined, unless you have an LS tranny (taller gearing).
Just doing 115 my motors spinning over 4K.

400-450 are my averages. I once drained a whole tank on the highway, i got 550, thats the only time thats happened.

mkralj Jul 11, 2005 11:27 AM

wow our tanks hold 50 litres... i always thought it was only 40... makes me feel better when the one time the light came on and i drove home and filled up 40 litres and thought i was cutting it and had barely any gas in it...

i usually get about 480 when my light hits and i thought i could only get like another 30 kms out of it... but i guess as you say i still have another 10 L of gas.... mind you its a auto SE... so different comparison than a GSR...

Buff4Prez Yo Jul 12, 2005 11:23 AM

i did just over 600KM when my light came on, now that i replaced my gas tank.

carpartts06 Oct 30, 2006 09:04 PM

are u guys getting 500 to 600km of city or highway driving? cuz i only get 430km/40 liters of city drivin.

IntegraJoe Oct 30, 2006 09:47 PM

i get about 450km on a tank on avg, but im usually playing with 9,000rpm :)

9000 RPM, eh? You must have a stOOk motor in that R of yours, right? Or are you completely missing your downshift points?

infamou$ Oct 31, 2006 11:54 PM

sup guys i am new to the forum, got a 96 SE (LS with leather) LOL
yea i get about 380-450/tank on 91 octane doing about 50/50 city/highway my girl lives downtown and i I live in Sauga, go figure lol

plzbeleiveit Nov 1, 2006 06:59 AM

92 gsr with lots of mods -> 35L 94 octane 290kms per tank. Usually fill up just before the light comes on. Dont think running your car when the tanks empty is good for the car.

Big Hairy Gino Nov 1, 2006 07:27 AM

The most Ive ever done in mine is 360-370 a Tank. But thats mostly city driving with a few highway runs here and there. I fill up using Sunoco 94 and fill up about 35L per fillup.

Oh yeah, mine is a 99GSR.

How do you know its time to change the fuel filter? I dont know if mine's been ever changed.

its me.. mario Nov 1, 2006 07:31 AM

about 550kms for about 35 litres, 94 octane, b20b

Gs-R-edline Nov 1, 2006 09:38 AM

Boosted Gsr..... 400Km.... 94 octane

James

KleenGiz'R Nov 2, 2006 12:28 PM

I get about 620-630 on a full tank of 94 in my 2000 gs-r
50/50 highway and city
