i was doing my rear pads/rotors and on one side........
to push the piston back in, I had to turn it about 30 times for it to fit over the new pads. the other side....
i couldn't get the piston to move , I tried for about 30minutes to turn it and i got it to turn just enough so i can hammer the caliper back over the new pads. Does this mean the calipers are seased or something? I don't want to go through that again when I have to do pads.

 

what did you use to turn it? i think it's ceased anyways.

i use a flat head but i lay it sideways and turn it like you would a rachet. make sure to lube up your sliders too.

Yea the caliper tool is an easier way to push back the piston when doing brakes. In this case based on Richie's description it sounds like he needs a new caliper instead.

Your caliper is most likely seized. This is what caused my car to miss the --------.ca meet.

 

Part source in Newmarket has the loaner tool. They are going to charge your credit card the price of the tool and return the money to the credit card once the tool comes back in it's original condition.
Look at pricing a new Caliper... Having hard time backing the piston in means she's (DEAD)

Only thing that gets greased is the slider pin not the piston (SEALED UNIT)
