Default Front seats in the back??

Has anyone seen or tried to take out the rear bench and put a set of the front seats in the back??

The trouble I see with this is the way the rear seats are set up in the teg. The bench sits on top of a raised bit of the frame, making the seats' mounting position sit much higher than the front seat. However, the added height + the bench gives you roughly the same height lower seat wise - just if you try to mount a front seat that extra height will probably not let you.

This is what I'm talking about, lower left corner Imageshack - enginenewto6.jpg

Most cars have the same type of design for rear seats and how they're mounted. I doubt you'd be able to do it.

If you do want to chance your seats to something wicked, try some rear type R's

Actually, the link I posted earlier has type-R seats in the back. Something like those I'm thinking.

I'm not sure on how easy they'd be to find for a DA, or if newer ones can fit. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this.

The question is WHY.

Get some Type R rears and do some modifications to make it fit. Lool Or take out the back seat all together, weight reduction FTW!

It's point less and stupid to do it, you will have to make custom mounts, make a new rear center console for between the seats, and you mite have to cut the top of the seats to make them clear the roof. Plus it would just look stupid in the car.

To take out the rear seats on a DA:

Remove the trunk carpet which is held by plastic clips
Fold down the drivers side rear seat
Once you fold down the seat, you will see a black bracket on each side of the seat, remove the 2 bolts
Then push the seat towards the other to get the bar out of the side pannel

Passanger side seat

Fold it down.
Remove the bolts off each bracket like you did on the other seat
Then on the right side in the middle, you have to remove a bolt on the side of the bracket.
Then just pull the seat out

Butt piece
There are 2 clips in the front(where your knees are). Just fidgit with the butt piece until it comes out

You wont be able to put bucket seats in the rear. It will be too high.

i think you rather put your money into something else unless you have money to kill like that..its your car and its all up to you and yeah i have seen front seats in the back but in pimp my ride and thats about it..i find it a waste personally if you want to change something about your rears just put the type r ones or leather ones..they will make your interior pretty sexy

It will not clear.
also those type-r seats that were posted will look bad in a DA. since DA's are wider than DC's you will have a huge gap. im not sure about preludes thought. if i have time i can meassure my brothers preludes back seat for width and compare to my DA.

I think you may need to do some fabrication to make this happen.

You will need to do some test fitting, measuring and an understanding that they may not be perfect for your passengers.

Why not do this? Nobody else has done it here.

I think its to cool when someone wants to try some out of the norm.

You can closely look at your seats and see if the bottom bolster and be repadded so that the cushion is lower. ( I had to do this once on a car).

Checking how the back of the mounts you may be able to lower it.

Its a LOT of work but ANYTHING is possible if you put enough thought and effort into it. You are doing custom work here so time and effort is needed.

Unfortunately there is a lot of negativity on this forum towards your effort which sucks. I guess its a matter of personal taste (I think it will look cool) and effort. For some if you can't bolt it in they won't attempt.

For others like myself if it is at all possible I will try!

Good luck!!
