Default floors are rusting

anybody know of good reasonable body shops or better yet own or work at shops

if anyone on the site has hookups on body work please post
cash deals acceptable

my floors r rusting out and ive done soo much to the car i really dont want to give up. moneys tite right now but i can manage to scrounge some cash towards this just not much

rust is my cars worst nightmare the only part of my floor that needs immediate attention is under the driver seat door side rear bolt...where the rail bolts down rust started there and just kept ------ing now its like cracking and a small hole has formed

I can talk to a guy I know. He's a body man, and a painter. He does work on customers cars for my shop for cash. I should be seeing him on monday or tuesday. I have also done some fixing of floors before, it's really not to hard.

i really appreciate it buddy im gonna try to make it out to tommorows meet maybe u can see whats going on im soo cheesed i love this car im gonna try a shop or 2 that im familiar with but i dunno what to xpect from them

as far as doing it yourself i dont think im capable of welding new metal in and from the look of it that my best option or it will turn to crap in no time...allthough i have been thinking bout fibreglassing it myself maybe

i just fixed my cowl leak and then started noticing water coming in from the middle of my floors like under the seat thats how the hole grabbed my attention

I'd honestly just weld in new metal yourself. It's all under the carpet so who cares how it looks

yea man I first welded at 16, just have someone there to guide you a bit, but its fairly simple. Im still no pro, but its not that difficult. If it was somethign like welding on a rad support..id leave it to the professionals. But for a simple patch on the ground..just cut it out, and throw a sheet on top and your good to go!

Welding it easy once you know what your doing. I do it every week at work pretty much doing exhaust work, lol. You just need to make sure you have the temp and wire speed at the right sitting for the thickness of the metal your working with, because if you have it to high and your using thin metal, your just going to burn throw it.

just an update i walked over to a metal working shop a unit across from the unit i work at and they just basically cut and weld metal all day, they are like a metal fabrication company or sumthing and i thought they mite help out and sure enuff they are down to tackle the job. shops were quoting me the cheapest 600 a side but these guys at the metal shop are willing to do it for half of that

i am getting it donw saturday morning and i hope it turns out well...the guys say as long as theres something to weld to we are good they took a look at the car and admitted it was in bad shape. my seat rails are all rusted and prolly seized on drivers side. they warned me they mite not be able to save the seats... i dont wanna put them back rusty anyways its just gonna ------ rust faster

anyone know good places for seats so far im looking up classifieds online

more importantly can i put any seats in my car or they have to be from an integra?

Glad your getting it fixed. Yeah you can put any seats into your car, you'll juts have to change the seat rails over from your seats to make them bolt up properly. The only other seats that bolt right in are 92-95 civic's, the 96-00 civic only bolt in 3 out of 4.

ok so as long as i buy the seats with seat rails i should be good?

ive never played with seats so im still a bit uncertain
to be honest im looking at rsx seats with oem rails the add says but i dunno if that will fit right i may have to ask the metal workers to customize something and i dont think the rears will fit ill have to customize that wen i got the time lol

RSX seats will not bolt up, you would have to change the rail over from your stock seats to the rsx seats to make them work.

so i picked up a front set of seats 200 bucks buckets with rails and either leather or simulated leather or in the worst case maybe vinyl lol

http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgur...JsHflgefn5i4Dw

they look exactly like those no rips tears or cracks...the mounts are a tad rusty im thinking bout sandblasting them and painting them with some left over red caliper paint

so bad news the floor went in allryte but wasnt done the greatest

i only had basically under the driver seat replaced the part of the floor from my knees to the pedals is still all old and rusted pretty bad on my own time when i can i wanna clean it up and use rocker guard

everything on the car was in ruff shape bolt belts clips mounts all that and i didnt even get to put the new seats in it would be way too much work to customize mounts to fit the seats and the worst part is even if i bought new stock mounts the wouldnt fit the seat and car properly...another bad thing is the piece of metal that was welded in isnt very level so the seat is tipping me a lil inward toward my ebrake and so far its kinda annoying, manageable but annoying

so now im stuck with these sick seats and still sitting in my stock ones

we tried just figuring the placement of the new seats and to be honest i find them a lil too big for an integra the almost hit the ceiling and sort of rub on the walls of the car or almost rub

so after this crazy experience i decided this car is not worth investing in...its worth to keep running but not something to dump cash into and try to fix up cosmetically...im way better off finding another DA with less rust and wen the motor does go on this one swap all the parts over...

so im thinking of buying another DA and keeping this one problem is i already have 2 cars and no parking so first is to either sell my other car or find parking for a 3rd car

i drive 200 k for work a day doing deliveries so i can maintain this ride for that as long as i can while working on a next DA worth the trouble

at the end of the day i payed buddy 350 bucks for his time i left the car there from 8 am to 4 pm so i cant really complain...i just feel bad the guy was trying to do me a favor. i beleiev he did his best but the shap of the car stopped him from doing better

either way ill work on the car myself from now on and just take it slow till she goes i think shes stilll strong tho

so ya its a real long post but it was a real long shitty experience and its disappointing to see my teg suffer but at the same time exciting to be looking towards a new one

Sorry to hear that. But yeah some times its just not worth it any more. I've had a few cars like that over the years, just I ended up just getting rid of them right away and getting a new car.

Good luck on the new car once you get it.
