Exhaust question

Default Exhaust question

im getting a new catback exhaust system for my 93 civic hatch, (resonator pipe, mid pipe & muffler) its 2 1/4, if i dont wanna use the huge muffler coming with it and make my car sound like sh*t can i just use my stock muffler with the aftermarket midpipe? any ehlp is appreciated. thanks

is yours rusted?
just get intermediat. cat-muffler. you can pick em up at part source.

is my stock muffler rusted? no its perfect but the midpipes messed up. i just wanna know if i can bolt this muffler right onto the aftermarket midpipe?

You should be able to bolt up the stock alxe back to it, but you mite not as the new mid pipe is bigger 1" bigger then the stock exhaust.

you can use the original muffler on the aftermarket pipe but you'll have to use an expander to expand the pipe on the oem muffler to fit into the aftermarket pipe so it can either be welded or clamped. it'll be tough because expanding the oem pipe to fit the aftermarket pipe could break that little pipe at the oem muffler. you can buy different size pipes and weld them to step down slowly to fit the muffler but it'll look ugly as sin..

for around 60.00 to 100.00 max an exhaust shop can do it for you properly and it'll still look awesome..
