Exedy or Competition
Hello Guys,
I am shopping around for a clutch, and I am interested in getting a stage clutch, as I am planning a build, with future plans of boosting my B18b. I have done research and came to the conclusion that Exedy is one of the best for clutches. Would any one know roughly how many hp and torque the Exedy Stage 1 clutch can handle? Would it be able to handle a boosted B18b. My plans are to make the car push about 230-250 whp. Also this is going to be my Daily driver for the next year or so until i boost it.
I have found a deal for $320 for Exedy stage 1 clutch. What do you guys think?
Would anyone know a place to get it for cheaper?
optionJDM is selling the competition stage 2 clutch kit for $340. How are the competition clutches? Would anyone recommend this clutch considering price and quality.
And advice will be useful. Thanks.

I've had stage 1 exedy and now have stage1 competition, I'd say go with exedy. Competition feels more like stock and is less agresive though it has the same clamp load. Both clutches hold about 220ft-lbs of torque, as I recall.
Also, from experience I noticed that the competition clutch gets a little mushy after you get it hot.
Now for stages, I would say go for stage 2. I've driven a civic with stage 2 clutch for couple of months, it wasn't that bad. It did grab hard, but it was bearable and over time you get used to it and adjust your driving. Reason I say stage 2 is even though you think that at 240whp you will call it a day, you may want more later and you won't have to replace it again. And also even with the limit you want, the clutch may start slipping when you start booting it around at full boost.
