Default In Dash Install Help

Hey Guys,

I'm new to this and was hoping to get some help with an indash tv install. I have a 92 Teg and was going to install it into the factory stereo location. But when the tv folds out it is hitting the dash where the climate control button are, any suggestions to get around this issue? I know i must be missing something as I know others must have installed in dash TV's in there teg before. P.S I have tried moving it to the lower location and moving the pocket to the top.

Please Help

you might have to go with a different brand or do some serious modding to make it work.

^^ i agree, with you man, i have a 92 as well and can see the problem your encountering, this is not gonna be easy to install the way you want to because of the way the center of the dash swoops outward, we all know what it looks like, so you either gonna have to build a small extension to get it out further, which may interfear whith shifting? dont know, or like it has been stated above your gonna have to do some cut and paste, aboth not very good soultions, you should see about getting another unit, and making sure this time that the screen has room to manouver, and youhave room to shift gears if that the case, sorry to hear you may have wasted your money man, atleast you can see the one you have or bring it back

also what brand are you using?
i'm guessing it might be a pioneer, if anything look into kenwood, there screens open up differently, so that might help.

The Indash I has in a pioneer AVH-7500. Unfortunately the Kenwood has the same issue. It will open if i Pul it out a bit but the last thing I want is to shift gears hard and put my fist throughthe screen. a friend mentioned that the GM fitting jit sticks out a bit so I'll try it and let you know. Any and All suggestions are welcome...Thanks Guys

Unfortunately returning it isn't an option. I'm in the process of making it fit right now, I'll post up some pics of it when it's complete.

Hey Guys, finally got everything done friday night. I had to pull the deck out enough for the TV to flip out (without looking retarded). a little ABS plastic, some epoxy and a dremel go a long way. Came out pretty good and doesn't affect shifting at all. I still gotta do some cleaning up cause I didn't notice that the epoxy was white when i bought it , but @ 3 in the morning you work with what you got. I'll post some pics later this week.

Thanks, My friend had a Kenwood (KVT-715 I think) and it has adjustment for angle and the slide. The slide actually gives you quite a bit of adjustment and looks like that would have worked without any modifications to the fitting kit. FYI to anyone thinking about it putting in an in dash. I wanted a unit with TV tuner as well which is why I decided to go with the pioneer.
