Default DA cluster speed sensor

Well I got a problem, I was pulling out the cluster on my DA and it felt stiff, so I yanked on it and it came loose. Now I didn't know that the speed sensor attaches to the cluster through that thick wire/cable. So now the little plastic piece off that rod has broken off and stayed on the cluster. I tried hacking at it to make it fit on the rod again but no luck. Also I figured as long as I could slide that rod into the cluster it would work no? Here is another issue, I cannot get my hand behind there. Just simply not enough room. Any tips/advice? I really need to fix it because my cel is on and speedo doesn't work haha.
Thanks in advance.

you need to replace the cable, and maybe the cluster if you can't get that broken part out.

so that rod actually spins? damn i thought it was just like a sending unit. hmm i guess it will have to be replaced. ah.... fair enough.
since its just a cable type thing, i should have no problem with ripping one out of a scrap yard right?

I would not really know, as I have never really looked at a DA cluster before.

I would run it through the fires wall and plug it into the cluster first, and then once you have the cluster back installed, then plug it back into the tranny.
