I dont recommend it but if your in a jam remove your starter. Then use a flat head screw driver and place it between the flywheel teeth. it should get stuck and prevent the engine from rotating over. NOT RECOMMENDED because its not good for the flywheel especially if it slips out. but if you SOL and need that bolt off asap this should work.

you can buy a crank pulley removal tool from canadian tire. I think mine was about $30-40. It fits inside of the crank pulley, while still allowing full access to the crank pulley bolts. All you do is put the tool on a 1/2" drive ratchet/breaker bar put it into the crank pulley and wedge it (the ratchet) up against the lower control arm (or something down there). This will hold the crank pulley still while you go to town on the bolt.

thank you, im gonna look for that tool you speak of tomorow! i got it off already with my old method by removing the trany to engine mounts then the flywheel cover and jamming a pry bar in there and holding it with my foot, but its a real pain in the *** and like 95'teg 4dr said not the greatest idea, and im always for some reason or another needing the crank pully off, and then tightening it is another real pain, so this tool will really help me, and where is chuck norris when you need him.
