Default Cold Air Ducting

Just wondering if anyone has put something like this on their car. I'm currently running the stock airbox with a filter and no resonator. I have noticed quite a bit of power gain on colder days, more than I was expecting on a NA car.

I'm not sure if I made my question clear, I'm talking about running something like dryer hose from the front fender area up to the intake box.

It's a cheap way to make an Ice Box. Dryer hose is low quality and will dry up an crack over time. Get yourself something better quality or just go out and grap a comptech Ice Box. Personally, I prefer Ice Boxes to CAI - but I still use a short ram myself since there's more torque and no danger of water getting into the engine or forcing more dirt into the filter.

Your running the risk of putting a big "straw" for your engine to suck puddles... but yea its been done... with everything from sheet metal to pvc pipe... your not really going to gain much for the trouble...not to mention the eye sore..

ok you're going to have to really research your ---- because you're sadly misinformed about intakes

read this:

it's pretty helpful for getting to know in-depth and overall

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to research here, I already have my setup. All I know is I'm losing power when it get warmer outside, even though that is normal, i just wanted to see if there is anyway to regain some...

I just dunno if you can "feel" a diff when it is warm or cold.... I mean we're talking +/- 5-10 hp Max here....

If I fart into my engine bay before driving, I easily gain 20hp!

hmm isn't it a proven fact you gain hp as intake temps decrease? i think even 5-10hp would be easily felt in a light car like a teg...i mean I/H/E in some cases only gives you this much power and you feel that...

ok... well your mind is clearly made up... and since you already have your "setup".... it's really a closed issue.... after all your the only one who drives your car... so as long as your happy...and you can "feel" the power... then its all good...

I originally posted about adding some sort of intake duct leading to the stock airbox to try and decrease intake temps, thereby increasing power, i dont know what ur going on about

If you take the time to read what I wrote... I would assume what I'm "going on about" would become apparent.... long story short... what your doing is GHETTO and will make very little to no difference.... go stock up on type R stickers... they add more power...

Maybe it is " ghetto" but that doesn't make it a waste of time or invalid, DSM guys have been doing ghetto home depot mods for years...

P.S. they're all out of type R stickers at pac mall, you think you could lend me some "Mr. fast"
