Default Clutch prices

My clutch in my 98 integra has gone soft overnight, it was fine when i parked it, got in and its soft, low release point, and can smell a bit of burning. i'm convinced its done, previous owner said it was done around 135k ago, wondering if anyone knows what i'm looking at price wise, maybe a shop that can get it done for a good price, and done soon.

check your clutch fluid first. Chances are your clutch slave cylinder is leaking. It's a $30 part and 1/2 hr labour. But to answer your original question, an OEM replacement clutch can cost you about $150-$200 and installation would be around $300-$350.

I would also say it might be your master slave cylinder. Especially that it happened over night.

Another vote for master or slave cylinders. The lines have maybe taken in air or are low in fluid, potentially causing the differences you describe. A definite possibility if all this just happened without warning as it did.

When you're in gear check to see if your clutch slips. I'm leaning more toward the cylinders being faulty. Check for leaks under the clutch pedal on the inside of the firewall and on the slave, located on the transmission.

well i checked my fluid levels, everything is fine, no leaks. clutch is just done for. with 135,000kms, possibly more on it, its not an unreasonable suggestion. Got it fixed for about $900 all in.

it pretty much was for oem replacement, i took it to my mechanic and got it done. i have no interest in going online and ordering stage anything clutch with lightweight flywheel. put on an oem clutch, had the flywheel machined and all that, plus he changed on more thing for me. look as any long term car owner knows, you find a good honest mechanic, you stick with him. he fixes my dad's 68 corvette, and does a ------- killer job, so loyalty is key.

Good, loyal mechanic does NOT charge you 900$ for a clutch job. Parts in, 500$ job, 600$ pushing it.

^+1 the extra $100 would be for machining the flywheel

lol My favourite kind of post.

"Guys help me out!"

Ignore what you say, end up getting screwed over by their 'trusted mechanic'

Cool story.

---- you could of had it done for like $500-$600 at the shop I would at. It's only a 3 hour job if you know what you are doing, and that's taking your time doing it. It pays 4.5 hours on the book.
