I dont think masking tape will help from cracking the hood,
if you drill,
use a fully charged battery, new or sharp bit and do mask the area of where you will be drilling incase the bit wants to wonder,
the hood pins will be locked into the top rad support

I put mine in today bro and they are temp they lock but if i unlock them then i got to press down on my hood and get them to lock. I wouldnt use them get some of the hood pins like the pin comes through like cotter pin style. They are easy to install.

i like the keylock style...if ou can..take some pics of where on the hood you isntalled it and where on the rad support you bolted it in? cause i can't seem to find a spot with enough clearance..since the lock and locking bolt thing tkae up so much height. knwo what i mean?

I got em on my car! a pain 2 install i tell ya! ur hole is gonna be quite large. hardest part of installing it is compensating for the angle of the hood! so install the bolts first and then have a guide mark to where u drill. U gonna have 2 keep closing in ur hood to see if it dead on to latch with the keylock! Good luck bro! Oh BTW! If u have a cheap hood like I did, good luck securing the washer lock part on the hood! LOL!

but where did you install the bolts? in which holes? cause if i instal it in the rad support hole...it sticks up 1 inch...and then with the keylock in place..thers not enough of clearance when you close the hood. kwno waht i mean?
