Default a/c

so now that the summer heat has finally decided to come out, go figure, my a/c quits.

i can hear the compressor coming on and it blows fine, but it feels like the heat is on instead of the a/c

i figure i need a flush but every article i read makes it seem like a giant PITA

does anyone know any easy way of doing it PROPERLY?
or a place that can do it for a decent price? (broke student here)

I have same problem, a mechanic told me it just needs to be recharged so call around and ask for quotes on getting your ac recharged.

If the free-on is to low the A/C compress will not even turn on. My was not even turning on, and I new mine was low, so I recharged at work. Nice and cold, but I still never fixed the leak, lol. If it's not blowing cold air, you have a leak in the system. The A/C system should never lose any free-on at all, the only way is if it's leaking. My work charges around $100 for a full inspection of the A/C system and we will find the leak. I know mine seems to be the front compresser seal.

There's only 1 belt for the A/C. No to napa or parts source, they are most likely around $30-$40.
