Hey Everyone,

So lately i've been noticing my brake pedal feeling mushy. Like when i brake the pedal keeps going down to the floor. I changed the brake booster/master brake cylinder last july. I checked the brake fluid and its still there. I don't think its the master brake cylinder again because when it broke last time it isn't the same as how it feels this time. When i brake the car didn't want to stop but the pedal went down, right now like the car stops but it just takes me to pushing the pedal all the way down but i can still stop. Also the pads have been changed last year, but the rotors haven't been changed there is roughly 60km's on them and 3years of driving on them, my mechanic at the time told me i only needed pads so thats all i changed. Do you guys think the rotors could be causing this? please help with any advice, thanks in advance.

Bleed your brakes, there's air in the lines

ok lets hope so T, i might as well get some rotors and do my brakes then. But i wonder how does air get into the lines? lets hope its not the master cylinder and i don't have brake line leak, and what are the chances of that?

Basically over time brake fluid breaks down. You can get air into the lines if you boil your brake fluid that's in there now, turning it from a liquid to a gas.

No need for new rotors, if your current one's are fine.

Grab some valoline SynPower Brake Fluid DOT 4 from crappy tire. Grab 4 bottles and a tube and we can do it at the wednesday meet.

Didn't know that you could get it air in like that, but still doesn't seem like a usual problem for most. No i think the rotors are due for a change, because when i brake you can hear it squeeking kind of loud. But i wish i could make the wednesday meet, but i have 2 tests to study for the next day. Well as long as i know, i'm going to do this asap when i get a chance, lets hope this solves the problem. Thanks T for the advice, I apprciate it.
