Boost With Stock Pistons
I have a 90' Integra and Im thinking of putting on T3/T4 turbo kit but I have stock pistons and I dont really want to put in different pistons so what would be the most psi I could use? Also a friend is selling a small shot nitrous kit (only adds about 70hp) and Im thinking of putting that on also. The engine is a B18B engine from japan. Do you think a nitrous kit and the trubo would be too much on stock pistons? I have never tested the strain on these pistons.
Forget about the NOS. Bottles are for babies...
What trim is the turbo? Its nice to see people finally asking about psi with a certain turbo not just an open ended questions, but 10psi with a 50trim isn't the same as 57trim.
Also the ammount of pressure varies where you measure it. At the turbo compressor or intake manifold.
Shouldn't judge by the psi but should have a set goal for horsepower and then adjust turbo pressure accordingly.

As far as boost, 8-12 psi is about the max you can run safely, judging by your question I'm guessing you havent done much research yet, so remember if you do go turbo, you will probably need a new clutch soon, and it will be a good idea to lower the car and get rims with sticky tires. Also 91+ octane will be a must.
P.S. I wouldnt exactly call 70hp a "small shot", not on a Teg..lol
Highkbeater - again don't just throw numbers out there.
Think about a stock motor running 12psi (as you recommended to be Max) with a t3/t4 60trim .82AR exhaust side.
Now think about a t3/t4 50trim with a .48AR exhaust side at 12psi.
If you know how both will feel/act you'd understand that 8-12psi limit is so vague to say. Its like if you ask me what size tires you should run and I tell you 145/40r15 to 255/70r15 and first two numbers anywhere in those ranges.

I was just trying to answer his question in terms he would understand, as he has alot more learning to do if he really wants to follow through with any of this.
^^ funny you mentioned taking advice word for word. I remember a person on a different forum. Somebody said the person can run 14psi or so on a td04e safely...well the person ended up getting a t3/t4 57trim. He bought it as a kit not knowing anything about trims nor a/r, went to a tuner and asked for 14psi...mind you that was a stock d16z6 in a civic.
So just be careful, some people hear few numbers and it gets stuck in their head

I hope you are joking, what kind of person takes the advice of one random post on an internet forum - from a person he doesnt even know..lol? And without doing the slightest bit of research? Perhaps someone like that really shouldn't be going turbo.
If you ask me that's the greatest lesson he could've had, money very well spent.

The b18b is one of the best honda motors for boost.
Consider the type of use the vehicle will get (daily driving/track) and how much power you want it to make. Stock LS motors have been known to safely handle 250whp+.
