Default bogging problem

for the last week or so since i've had my motor it has been running strong but these past 2 days when the car has been driving/idling for around 30 minutes or more it starts to putter and bog like crazy. It's a mission to start off in first gear because it just wants to die and it does it at every speed pretty much and even if i shut the car off and let it sit for awhile it will still do it. I really don't know what it could be any ideas would be great.

im having the same problem with mine
first i thought it was the headgasket as i saw water in the spark plug chamber, but later i noticed the cat glowing red so i was thinking its blocked and exhaust gas is coming back into the engine, also pull out each spark plug wire 1 at a time and put them back in if the engine drops idle then the plugs are fine, if 1 stays teh same then ur only running on 3 plugs, im gona change my plugs and cat today ill post up again once i fix those and let you no of any difference.

well so far it seems to have worked what i did. i changed my plugs with oem honda plugs from formula..., and changed my distributor cap aswell and so far i dont have any problems, the cat seems to be ok it was just glowing red because 1 cylinder wasnt firing so all that fuel went through the exhaust and lit up in the cat i guess so therefore higher heat there and it started glowing,

best way to check ur plugs just remove 1 wire and check if ur engine drops idle, then that means that plug is good, if theres no change in the way the engine idles when u remove a wire then that means that spark plug is dead, so ur only firing on 3 cylinders. repeat the step for all the plugs pull wire out then drop idle then put back in then do next plug.

I had that problem with my old 91 DA, I would give it tones of gas and it would just still die out no matter what and I would have to sit there for 10 minutes and I would get one chance before it would just stop idling and I'd have to kill it on the gas just to get moving then it would die later on. It wouldn't make sense either because it just had a complete engine swap with new fluids and everything.

Well my car is now reading code three i believe because the ecu blinks one long blink and then a second long blink and three fast blinks. So either way its telling me my map sensor is shot. May as well change the o2 sensors while im at it. Hopefully that will fix the problem

2 long and 3 short is code 23. look it up to see what it means. it might be something to do with. i think it has something with vtec but don't quote me on that.

Well im wondering if the knock sensor is hooked up because i believe the old b18b's dont have a knock sensor. But anyways where is a cheap place to pick up one and what car would I get it from because I doubt part places have jdm parts.

as long as ure knock sensor is from a b series vtec motor then ull be fine, for example any b16a1/2, b18c1, b18c5, b17.... etc... i think the only ones that wont work are the h22 vtec knock sensors cuz they are different part numbers all together...
