its both...theres a little rubber cap that you pop off, then crack the drain bolt on each caliper and let gravity do the job...

OR

tools needed:
1) bottle with cap (water bottle will work)
2) rubber hose (hose must fit over drain bolt tightly)
3) DOT 3 fluid

drill a hole in the top of the cap for the hose to fit through (be sure the hole is sealed tightly around hose). the hose should feed all the way down to the bottom of the bottle...fill half the bottle with NEW fluid... now you should have created a bottle with a hose sticking out from the cap...crack the drain bolt furthest away from the booster (RR i believe) and connect the the hose to the bolt..(do not completely remove bolt)have someone pump the brake pedal to the floor while you're holding the hose tightly on the drain bolt, the fluid should be pumping out...repeat steps on each caliper... once finished, tighten drain bolts and fill up fluid.....and your done!
be careful NOT to let air in the system!!!
good luck...
