Default b18c (301+ WHP) owners help me plz..

Hello there..

I am looking for more information to prep my b18c for an appx 301whp.

I need help.. I have a well good understanding of the theory for making Honda power.. from internals to bolt-on. I need to know what you guys have done to achive the 301+ WHP from a b18c.

Theory is NOT realistic work.

Please help me either through msn (salwan7@hotmail.com) or PM. Here are few questions that I have:

1. What internals have worked best for you?

2. Whats your current compression?

3. Did you do any block work? What exactly?

4. Where did you get your work done?

Thank you for your time and I promise to keep everything privet. I would wish to have more ppl add me on msn.. am looking for more friends who have work done.

** Few are thoes who have 301 + whp.. and few of these will care to help. I will be one of the few as soon as I get to that high whp. If anyone needs any help I can provide feel free to ask **

Thank You
& Keep Moding.

I used to have a Type R decided to go turbo and only dynoed it at 5psi, never dynoed it after breaking in the motor but was runnin at 9psi when i sold it.... at 5 psi i dynoed at 267whp

all i did internally was pistons and rods no block work......
its all in the tune.........

Are you asking for 301 WHP F/I or N/A?

Boost is your friend if you want 301 not 302.

I'd go for 303. They're quality products.

hey
well b18c is JDM GSR
b18c1 USDM GSR
b18c5 <-- both JDM & USDM Type R.

(thats what i know) lool.

Btw: I have asked for specific type of ppl.. am looking for thoes who OWN a gsr/type R that have hit 301+ whp... I alrady (and still reading) the theory behind it.. but i need people who actuly have gotten results after dynos with tuning done.. this way any pure results sheared will help me or ppl in the future to sorta determine what some1 with a stock GSR can do.

Read my questions.. am asking for where they got things done for a reason... I have asked what internals they did (yes byone 50% power increase internals are a must) THATS WHY I ASKED what internals..

sorry for the long post lol.

KEEP MODING:*****:

^b18c are either jdm gsr's, or jdm type-r's. only way to tell the motors apart is to look for the casting marks on the head.

ok, well if you want 300hp it narrow's down your choices to either boost or spray. stock sleeves can handle up to 4-500 hp depending on tuning. i'm building a LS motor that will be done and in the car by spring and my goals are 300-350hp. right now i have 9:1 forged CP pistons, eagle H-beam rods, i'll be running a top mount manifold with a T3/TO4E turbo. the setup will be fully tuned and there should be no problem hitting 300whp. so for you question as to "how can i make 300hp on my GSR motor" there are alot of ways you can do it with forced induction. you can go higher compression and less boost, or lower compression and more boost however it all depends on your tuner. do some research and find out what setup best suits your needs/goals.

Hey, thanks for the info. Well I have not read about turbo yet.. I know the basics.. I know how it works.. but nothing deep in detail yet.

I have a blown jdm gsr... so far its getting looked @ to see HOW bad the damage was. I am expecting news in say 2 3 weeks..

After I will defintly be prepin that motor to get ready for a good turbo. I am not aiming higher than 300whp but I want a motor to last long.. (50k/year daily driver) :*****:. I have good people but I rather know what I want vs. get what they suggested. (which it will probbly be the same just diffrent part makers). I am expecting the problems with turbo to rise any moment.. but if its built/tuned right..no engine damage shall happen again. (I wont rev it 2 high again lol).

ill update as i go through..

Thanks again every1, keep it comming people.. 2 3 more examples and I am a happy driver lol.

b16
9:1 JE pistons and Eagle rods
Skunk2 stage 1
t3 super 60
3" downpipe and exhaust
580cc injectors
Tuned by paul at splitfire made 311whp at 15psi (crap)
I've recently rebuilt (sort of) the engine and have it tuned at 10psi right now, and its just as fast as it was at 15psi (same turbo) tuned by paul. I'm waiting on a better MAP sensor to turn up the boost (old one broke) then put it back on the dyno....i'll keep u updated.
But if you only wanna hit 301whp, leave the block stock and concentrate on a good turbo setup. Check out evans-tuning.com he's tunes stock b-series to over 300whp all day.

aftermarket rods come with stronger rod bolts, he's just having a hard time sourcing rods for a b17.

a good tune and a good set of forged pistons and rods are all you really need to make 300+HP reliably.

oh and also......a good fuel managment system (larger injectors and a high flow fuel pump)

A FMU IS NOT A GOOD FUEL SYSTEM.....

honestly, you don't need forged internals to hit/break 300whp and it be reliable.
Like i said before check out the dyno section on the forum on evans-tuning.com. These are cars tuned by jeff evans usually on neptune (same thing as crome/hondata). There are plenty of them that break 300whp on stock internals. Its all about the turbo setup and tuning.

^ Being reliable for 30-50 K and then Exploding is one thing, being able to survive constant strain on a daily basis is the side of the picture that forged internals brings to the table. When all is said and done factory internals were never meant to take boost.. a good tune will prevent knock to a certain degree but the + Psi inside the cylinders still exists.. pressure which was never considered by those who created the engines and their components.

I understand what your saying... hell I'm living the dream right now, 7psi on a stock Gsr motor... it's great fun.... but it's not going to last.

a lot of it is how you drive the car too....if you constantly beat the **** out of it its not going to last as long, but for every 30,000-50,000kms how many of those kms do you think is spent in boost with a real strain on the engine?
I'm just saying that i know people who've had their stock boosted B's for 5+ years and well well over 50,000kms at even higher boost levels than 7psi.
Besides, who keeps their setups for that long anyways? Most people that spend hella loot on their cars change their setup every couple of years (if that long) in the quest for more power.

But ya, realistically, if you wanna have a car that makes 350whp for what little extra $$$ forged internals cost its definately worth it in the long run.

the price of forged internals have gone down alot over the years. to the point where it doesn't really break the bank for you to have forged internals. it's extra peice of mind too, if you get forged internals one time, you'll never have to worry about it again. boosting on stock motors is ok and all, hell i'd probably boost on a stock motor if my motor was in good condition. but my motor sucks pOO so aslong as i'm rebuilding, might aswell slap some forged pistons in there.
