Anyone with Rsx seats in an integra ???

Did anyone do this swap, I tried doing it today and i was just simply going to drill new holes for the ones that dont fit, but the problem is that the seats sit soooo high is this normal anyway of making them sit lower ????

onelankan 01-04-2009 07:39 PM

Yeah I have em in my car. The seats do sit higher (haven't done any research to find rails that will allow it to sit lower yet). I bought the seats with custom made brackets on each corner of the seat which aligns properly with the holes in the floor of the integra.

Jeep_DB2 01-04-2009 07:44 PM

I'm putting them into my 93 but I will be swapping the rails so they sit at factory height.

luksta 01-04-2009 07:46 PM

I did some reading and in order to take out the rails you have to grind them out where they are spot welded, is this true, I don't want them sitting so high, Jeep_DB how are you planning on swapping the rails, onelankan are they almost touching the ceiling of the car maybe an inch of gap ???

Yeah I read about that as well. There's probably about an inch or a little more of gap from the roof. If you tilt the seats forward (to get into the back seats) the top of the seat actually touches the roof.

But I still love the seats :D I'm planning on figuring a way this summer to get em to sit lower...but till then there fine.

luksta 01-04-2009 08:28 PM

lol ok so its not just me, wow I don't know how you do it then it sits so much higher than integra seats , i am gonna look into swapping out rails but I still think its gonna sit almost at the same height

Jeep_DB2 01-04-2009 09:22 PM

They aren't spot welded, they are riveted.
My DA rails are only bolted to the factory DA seats.

I've drilled out a few of the rivets but that was a bitch, going to get my jig saw from my parents place and cut the rest of the rivets off.
I'll make a how to post.

luksta 01-04-2009 09:28 PM

thanks man i am going to make an attempt this week i m not bolting them in for that height they sit way to high, do you think changing the rails would make a significant difference ?

Jeep_DB2 01-05-2009 09:58 AM

Yup, it should, I'm actually going to try and get them to sit a bit lower on the driver's side, if not both sides.

I'll also be wiring up the arse warmers :D

luksta 01-05-2009 06:17 PM

yeah definitely going to hook up the warmers as well that should be easy i m going to attempt the rail swap next week then i have the type s seats so high adjustable too, how do you plan on making it sit even lower ????

Jeep_DB2 01-05-2009 08:23 PM

That involves some butcher. I willl have them in next week I hope. Just need switches for the warmers. Will have pictures and diagrams, all of it.

luksta 01-05-2009 11:48 PM

sick do it up, let me know how it went what kind of switches are you going to use, i want to get some oem switches for the warmers, i m going to start my project next week the back seats look like a pain to do as well, can't wait to see your pics

luksta 01-07-2009 06:07 PM

are any of you guys doing back seats too ?

onelankan 01-07-2009 07:43 PM

^^^ Nope...but if you need a set of rears let me know :D

luksta 01-07-2009 09:35 PM

lol sorry dude already got them i m trying to figure out how i am going to make those fit too

spoom 01-13-2009 05:48 AM

i have rsx rear leathers seats installed on a dc2 theres a diy article on team integra about it

Jeep_DB2 01-13-2009 08:44 AM

I ended up getting some small circle shaped switches from Sayal Electronics that I'm going to use.

luksta 01-22-2009 10:09 PM

i was gonna attempt to do the front seat switch took out the old seats then got really lazy and put them back in looks like the swap is gonna be a lot of work i m gonna drill out the rsx rails i think its going to be easier this way

Jeep_DB2 01-23-2009 07:42 AM

You aren't drilling out the RSX rails. Least I was not able too.
My Rip Saw with some demo blades made quick work of the rivets though.

Putting my seats in today, will post a how to and link it when finished.

Jeep_DB2 01-23-2009 11:06 AM

Alright, I'm on my unionized coffee break so I'll post an update.

I've got the rails mounted on the driver side seat w00t! Next up is the passenger side and then reassembly and bolting them back into the car.

good job i m soo lazy to do mine yea post up how you did it, does it sit higher then your teg seat though , it looks like it is from the picture

ls/vtec 01-27-2009 07:25 PM

The only way to make rsx seats sit low like da's is to cut an inch off of the seat frame and re weld it

Jeep_DB2 01-28-2009 08:32 AM

ls/vtec is right and that's what I might do.

Also my driver side rail isn't lock in place. Work in progress people and it's facking snowing so I won't be messing with it anymore.

luksta 01-28-2009 08:51 PM

do you think i ll have the same problem with the dc ? is it significantly higher ?

ls/vtec 01-28-2009 09:22 PM

^ Yeah it will it be almost hitting the roof.

It's common for them not to lock in unless you put the seat all the way back. As for the cutting its not that bad but it is a day project lol

luksta 01-29-2009 06:25 PM

damn i m really losing my urge to do it now , i dont know if its worth all of this work hmmm recaros lol

Jeep_DB2 01-29-2009 08:52 PM

I'm wondering if I can use passenger side rails on the driver side of my car. Since they have locks on both sides.

It's not work it's fun. Besides, I like messing with ---- like this.

luksta 01-29-2009 09:35 PM

the thing is i want to put in the seats and at the same time its freaking sooo cold i think i got a way to do this lil butcher job i m just going to cut the seat all together the metal bracket and get the rails welded on
my problems should be solved regarding the height. what do you mean it doesnt want to lock in ?

Jeep_DB2 01-30-2009 08:34 AM

On the drivers side rail there is only a lock on one of the rails, the one by the center console. The other rail does not have a lock.

The passenger side as locks on both sides, once you grab the adjuster it opens both locks so the seat can slide.

I'm wondering if S2000 seats might sit lower.

luksta 01-30-2009 05:02 PM

lol so your thinking of grabbing other seats now too ?

Jeep_DB2 01-30-2009 09:19 PM

I haven't officially made up my mind yet.

Gonna talk to some friend's who own welders first. I like the seats, they look awesome and feel nice but the way they sit bugs me.

luksta 01-31-2009 05:52 PM

yeah same here thats why i dont want to take them apart because i m still not sure if i should sell them they sit way to high for me and i m tall too so doesnt help my situation

Jeep_DB2 01-31-2009 06:40 PM

Taking them apart isn't an issue for me now that I've done it like a million times.
It's just selling the damn things and finding s2000 seats.

luksta 02-03-2009 10:20 PM

yeah definitely wont be easy why wont you cut your rsx seats the bottom metal part it will drop the seat two or so inches depending how much of the seat you cut off, then weld / screw the rail back in ?

Jeep_DB2 02-04-2009 08:51 AM

Yea, I'm talking with Weirtech about doing the work.

I've got another idea but don't know how good it is.

luksta 02-04-2009 05:07 PM

whats the idea share ??? i am waiting for a warmer day to get this project on the way since i have another teg taking up garage space

Jeep_DB2 02-04-2009 11:25 PM

Idea is trashed.

I'll be cutting the seat down.

luksta 02-05-2009 05:37 PM

LMAO thats jks if you do it before i do it let me see pics and updates if i get around to it first i ll show update pics, for me the rsx seats have to sit as low as the tegra seats otherwise they are a no go i hate sitting high in any car
