Another Over heating situation
Need help/advice.
From what I read from this forum. It seems like everyone gone through this process.
Few weeks back, my car was overheating while it was idling and temp does down when driving.
I've changed a few of items.
New Rad
New Hoses
New Cap
Also I flushed the coolant and make sure there wasn't any air in the rad.
As those are the cheapest way to find out my problem. But it wasn't.
My thermostat and waterpump got changed 1yr ago.
There are no sign of coolant leak.
My fans only turns on when the A/C is on.
I read something about a switch for the fans.
Is that call the thermostat temp sensor? or coolant temp sensor? or what?
Basically my fans doesn't turn on at all. (I think this will solve my overheating)
What part(s) would I need to change to get that fix?
Thanks,

I'm also having issues with the fan turning on, You said if your ac is on both fans turn??? I cut my a/c so I wouldn't know lol, but if they both work then. I do know there is some sensor that connects to your main fan that tells it when to turn on and off. How long has it been overheating/how many times since you've owned the car?

ah see, reading up on other forums theres this thing called a temperature control switch, http://www.hondaclub.com/forum/integ...erheating.html so that can be one of your issues if the fan works (when ac is on) but doesn't actually kick in.

^ the fan fuse and and fan itself wouldnt be the problem if it comes on with the A/C.
probably the switch or thermostat. check your bottom rad hose after you car has been running a while. it should be warm/hot if the thermostat has opened up.
having the A/C on was the only way I could drive my Civic without overheating before the headgasket was changed.
