Default Another Over heating situation

Need help/advice.
From what I read from this forum. It seems like everyone gone through this process.

Few weeks back, my car was overheating while it was idling and temp does down when driving.

I've changed a few of items.
New Rad
New Hoses
New Cap
Also I flushed the coolant and make sure there wasn't any air in the rad.
As those are the cheapest way to find out my problem. But it wasn't.

My thermostat and waterpump got changed 1yr ago.
There are no sign of coolant leak.
My fans only turns on when the A/C is on.

I read something about a switch for the fans.
Is that call the thermostat temp sensor? or coolant temp sensor? or what?

Basically my fans doesn't turn on at all. (I think this will solve my overheating)
What part(s) would I need to change to get that fix?

Thanks,

I'm also having issues with the fan turning on, You said if your ac is on both fans turn??? I cut my a/c so I wouldn't know lol, but if they both work then. I do know there is some sensor that connects to your main fan that tells it when to turn on and off. How long has it been overheating/how many times since you've owned the car?

Yes, both fans are on when A/C is on.
I've had this car for over 5yrs and this is the only time it is overheating.

Where would i locate the sensor?
Is there other parts i need to be aware of?

ah see, reading up on other forums theres this thing called a temperature control switch, http://www.hondaclub.com/forum/integ...erheating.html so that can be one of your issues if the fan works (when ac is on) but doesn't actually kick in.

check the fuse for the fan, if it's fine go for the fan switch, it's on the thermostat housing. if it still doesn't work look in to the wiring and the fan itself.

^ the fan fuse and and fan itself wouldnt be the problem if it comes on with the A/C.

probably the switch or thermostat. check your bottom rad hose after you car has been running a while. it should be warm/hot if the thermostat has opened up.

having the A/C on was the only way I could drive my Civic without overheating before the headgasket was changed.

I got my thermostat changed at 200k. my reading is 220k. Will I even need a new one?
I figure it would be the temp. switch. Let me know your thoughts.

you do realize he's talking about his AC fan, right? the bigger fan beside it is the main fan to prevent the car from overheating at idle.

Isn't he talking about both fans, which is why his car is overheating.........

who knows wtf he's talking about. all i know is that he said the fan only turns on when he turns on the AC which is not the cooling fan.

Nah, because he says both fans turn on when his A/C unit is on, being both the AC fan and the cooling fan
