Amp question
Well about 3 months ago I bought that insignia amp and sub combo from best buy. Now the other day my amp tripped out and now the light is staying red "protection" mode. I'm not good with this stuff so does anyone know what could be the cause to this?
check if the amp has fuses on it and make sure there not blown, pretty much all you can do unless you take it apart also make sure your ground is good maybe try and unhook it and make sure the cantact is good. Another thing that can cause that is if your running your sub at to low of ohms resistance and the amp is not stable at that low of ohms and is shutting of or going into protection mode becuse of the heat. Does your amp smell like burnt wiring? You may have fried something inside aswell.

if your fuse is blown, you would have NO protection lights because the amp isn't seeing any 12v.
assuming you subs can handle the impedance you're putting on them: disconnect your subs.
if the protection light is gone, there's a short in your subs somewhere, either within the speakers voicecoil itself or your wiring.
if the protection light is still there, your amp probably has a short internally.

Their's your problem.
than buy an insignia. Performance or not, they don't last long. Sorry if I'm dissin your equipment.
