Default Alternator brushes for 92 Integra LS

Have read about a tip that says you can change your alternator brushes without removing your alternator. (on g2ic.com)

Have found American web sites selling these brushes. I have not found any Canadian distributers of these brushes.

Tried the Acura dealer - they want to replace the entire alternator when it dies.

Does anyone know if these parts can be sourced locally, or is it a bad idea on Canadian Integras?

The car was built in Japan but it seems strange you cannot get these brushes from the dealer.

Thanks, Graham

Find a rebuild shop in the yellow pages, they should be able to help you out.

Thanks, that's a good idea. It seemed strange to have to import items such as alternator brushes from the US. I've got 280,000km and I'm the original owner so nothin's been changed yet. It's been a great car over the past 13 years - I'm going to miss it when it's gone.
