Default Air Conditioning

Alright here goes. I took off the belt last summer and havnt had it on since. I just put a new belt on..and the AC doesnt work. Does this mean i have to recharge it? or is there a fuse or something preventing it from working. Usually when i had it on..I noticed a drop in voltage and i knew it was working. When on the voltage isnt dropping. Any ideas?

sounds like you need a recharge but to my knowledge they have a low pressure switch where it won't allow it to turn on if there's nothing in it.

^^^are you planning on doing it yourself? or a shop.

If you are planning on doing yourself you can only get the chemical (freon, I think) in the US or Wildoutgsr aka Trenell. I recall he brought some up last time he visited the states.

As long as you have a helms manual and are somewhat mechanically inclined, it's as easy as an oil change.

Yup I bought 2 a/c recharge kits back home with me. One for myself and the other to sell.

If your low on refridgerant, the a/c compressor won't turn on. You also could have a leak, which would suck hard.
