Default 2nd gear not allowing me to downshift into it

so yeah, basically when i'm in 3rd or 4th or 5th, and try to downshift into 2nd, it won't go in at all unless I really use my strength and push it in...

Before I had my engine mount problem the other day like 3 weeks ago, I was able to downshift into 2nd no problem from any other higher gear, only till after I fixed the mounts this is when I realized it wasn't going into 2nd without a fight.

any help and tips is appreciated. thanks, Omar.

btw, when im driving and accelerating normally from gear 1 to gear 2 it shifts fine, only when im downshifting this happens....and didnt happen before.

I'd check under the shifter
the bushing or bolt between the shifter and the linkage

on my db2 when i used to have it downshifting from ex. 4th to 2nd sometimes it would go in sometimes it wouldnt depending on my speed usualy. if i was doing 20-30 km on 4th gear slowing down or watever getting ready 2 take a corner id be able to pop it into 2nd gear

but if i was doing 50ish+ (on 4th) and try 2 bring it down to 2nd it wont go becuase the rpms would be way too high and it would sort of "block" me from trying to put it into 2nd but would go into 3rd gear...i dont know if that made sense lol but i tried

yeah thats what's happening to me, except the problem is...this didn't happen before, thats why it's freakin annoying me. Before, like 3 weeks ago, I was able to pop into 2nd FROM 4th around 60 km/hr with no prob...

yeah ill pop off the console and check out underneath thanks DRT.

the linkage is under the car just above the exhaust and there is a bushing at each end. there is to bars there one is a stabilizer #14 and the other is the linkage #13

havin similar problem right now. Cant down shift without force into 2nd, 3rd. Cant up shift into 2nd, 3rd, or 4th without force at high revs (fine at low revs). Gonna get the shifter bushing kit to see if its the problem... if not, what else could it be??????

thanks bros. I'll look into if what im gonna do tomorrow morning doesnt fix it... my mechanic lubed up the bushings etc, under the shifter this morning, and funny enough, it improved the situation (obviously only a band aid). I'm hoping replacement does it. will be back with outcome

BTW, if it is the syncros, what should i expect in terms of repair cost if anyone has an idea???

got the bushings that connect the shifter and linkage done. Shifter feels like new with no play, but still hard shifting.
The tranny fluid was done 6 months ago so its fine.

got 3 different opinions. One says its the clutch because syncros dont usually uff up all gears (usually 1 or 2). One said tranny and clutch, the other said bullshit. confused....

did you do it yourself or did you have someone else change it? when my tranny fluid was low (because i cracked the case) it was hard to get it in gear.
