Default 205 40R 16 on dc???

I've been debating if i can fit a 205 40R 16 on my dc (overall height 22.4") from the stock 195 55R 15 (23.4"). Im currently lowered on Tein Flexes and with my current tires i have on now 205 45R 16 (23.2") I am rubbin like crazy. However the recomended aspect ratio on a 16" is a 45 not 40...my question is, am i safe to put a tire that is one inch (overall height) smaller than the factory spec on the car?

The tires i want to put on are the 205 40R16 (22.5") Falken 615's
Thanks a bunch

it works and think of it as a speeding safety net as you'll be slower then what your speedometer is showing.

if you're going with azenis, why not go for 215/45/16? which is stock tire size on jdm 98specr wheels.

45% of 215 is going to be even taller so if you rub now your going to rub for sure with those unless you change your hieght

i was thinking of the 215 45 16, however my ride height is a issue, one more question, will the 205 40 16 rub less?

205 40's will make your car a little lower since the overall diameter is smaller and you will have less rubbing issues, IMO 205 /40s look good if your dumped, otherwise a bit more meat is alright.
