1992 integra gs "check engine" light question
Hey everyone,
My 92 gs has been throwing a check engine light for a few months now (intermitant light, comes on usually when im on the highway) no loss of power, no misfire etc etc car drives normal. so i decided to finally get around to checking it and seeing wtf is going on. did my research on how to pull codes from the car. which would be fine EXCEPT, i cannot for the life of me locate the green connector im supposed to jump to get the code.
from what ive read everyone says its on the passenger side footwell behind the glove box. well its not, ive removed the lower portion of the dash, removed the glove box, pulled the carpet back etc etc. and its nowhere to be found.
is there a difference in the plug location between usdm cars and cdm cars? has anyone else had a similar issue like this?
i know my way around old hondas pretty will (have a jdm b20a swapped 3rd gen prelude i did myself) and im a mechanics apprentice so id like to think im fairly competent but i am beyond stumped.
any thoughts, suggestions, to help me find this f*cking thing would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Re: 1992 integra gs "check engine" light question
** UPDATE **
found the diagnostic connector...burried under the harness, some genius at some point must've had it out and not put the coloured casing back on it. jumped it and tried to read codes, engine light doesnt flash just stays on solid, if i remove the jump the light goes out, jump it again...light comes on and stays on doesnt flash (same sh*t over and over).
im guessing because the engine light was not on before i started this process (like i said previously my engine light is intermittent, usually only comes on when im driving on the highway) i cannot check for stored codes like you can on obd2, obd3 etc .
can anyone confirm this?

Re: 1992 integra gs "check engine" light question
Pretty sure it's because the light doesn't stay on solid (pcm does not store DTC's like newer obd systems)...next time it comes on I'm going to leave the car running and jump the diagnostic plug and see if the light will flash. It's probably a slow o2 sensor or some sh*t

Re: 1992 integra gs "check engine" light question
code 43 is probably due to your o2 sensor. I know it's fuel supply issue, and a new fuel filter is probably not a bad idea, for maintenance, but the o2 will cause that code and come on after a series of criteria are met, including holding above around 90k for a certain amount of time. Common issue. I had it and really just didn't care about it, cause if it came on, shut it down and that clears the code, and it'd run fine. Changed to a wideband o2 with a simulated narrow band output, ran that wire to the existing plug on my harness for the stock ecu, code never came back.
I don't recommend the wideband, I would change the sensor with a stock one if I were you, I changed mine to get that step out of the way for a future mod I was making to the car that would include converting my car to obd1
