Default 1990 integra LS

I just Got myself a 1990 Acura Integra LS with 180 k on stock b18, and i was wondering what i should do engine wise. i wanted to do LS/Vtec but i heard not to to reliable at higher Rev's, i was wondering which other options i could do, most reliable, etc...oh yah this is deff on a budget, seeing as i only turn 18 in october...also i was wondering about suspension, and getting the 5 bolt conversion.. thanks alot for all the help

Depends what your budget is and how fast u wanna go?

Since you bought a 90 Integra, I would guess you don't have alot of extra cash laying around and wanted something cheap and hopefully reliable.

The first thing I would do is a complete tuneup. Plugs/wires, oil change tranny fluid etc...make sure the car is solid first.

I wouldnt recommend turbo since that will cost serious money, not only initially in getting it done and tuned, but also afterwards in up-keep and maintenance for things that might fail/break, like clutch etc...and you will need to be buying premium fuel..

A relatively cheap LS/Vtec build will cost around 2G's, it will be more reliable than turbo but not as fast, just set your rev limit to 7500rpm. But again depends on how much you can spend and if it makes sense to dump that much cash into a car thats worth maybe $1200 or so...

of course it doesnt make sense to dump alot of coin in a 90 integra you wont gety you money back out of the car. better to do it up and run it into the ground. i bought my DA for 1000 this spring and salvaged all of my parts from my wrecked DA built it back up to where i wanted it spent like 5k but im happy with the car so if u wanna dump coin go ahead but i would only suggest doing so if u plan ok keeping the car for a while as i plan to keep mine another 5 years at least.

and IMHO why waste money on a 5lug conversion that moneys better spent getting shocks and springs

good suspension and wilwood brakes are about the same price of 5 lug conversion with rims.. so if it was me id rather get the suspension and braking.

konisports 3 way adj.
sportines
megan racing LCA's
supension technique F+R swaybars
SPC adj. upper balljoints
front upper strutbrace
cpillar bar
custom Bpillar/harnessbar triangulating down to the seatbelt bolts
i need 2 get: front lower, rear lower and upper strutbars and tractionbars

i ended up spending more than a 5lug conversion on my braking and suspension setup and theres still more to go.

for daily driving you wont notice much, for track you will notice a little less fade as the discs are cooler and prevent/reduce brake fade.

umm iv never added it all up LOL dont really want to. its n ot about how much you spend. its doing the upgrades you want to do to make the car perform as it should. but if i would ballpark it 2500-3000+

i would personaly stay away from anything crossdrilled. if you want somthing like that get slotted but you dont really need it its basicly for show i dont experience any brakefade i just stomp on the breaks and my konisports are set on the hardest(frontend only slightly dips under hard breaking) sounds amazing hearing the pads clamp on the rotor
