Default Headlights for 98+ front end: HID Projector

Hey, so i hear the projectors in the USDM OEM headlights are not made to work good with HIDs. Can anyone tell me what ill notice if i put HIDS in the projectors made for halogens.

Does anyone have headlights, aftermarket or OEM, used or new. But in good condition, like shiny still.. ??

Can non shiny(older looking) headlights be polished to make them look new again? anyone know how to do this.
Thanks

email me if you got headlights or any information.
Thanks
-Adam

You'll blind us all with the glare! And they're illegal. Check with MTO.

Buy the TSX/Maxima retrofit headlights. They'll have good cut off so you don't blind everyone (still illegal I think, but depends if you get caught.)

Polish headlights wish some home toothpaste and paper towel. Wet it a little(very little) and scrub. Gets rid of the yellowish stuff.

Then just polish it with some good polish for plastic. and it's good to go! I do it all the time looks almost new

I have a set of 98+ headlights with Retrofitted BMW E46 projectors, comes with everything you need including ballasts and bulbs. The lenses you are talking about are still pretty "shiny".

The E46's projectors arent anywhere as good as a TSX projector but at least you'll have all the work done for you already.

Im asking 500 or best offer for the setup. LMK

How come the E46 projector isnt as good as the TSX projector?
Are your headlights OEM or aftermarket?
What K are your bulbs for the HID?

How much for just the headlights, if i dont want your ballasts and bulbs?

Thanks

Adam, it's a matter of preference, regarding projectors and light output.

If I had the choice I'd buy the headlights already retrofitted since at that price you're only paying for the parts, especially since they are from a seller with MINT parts ( What's up BHG ), just take a look at his car.

Like I said before an OEM retrofit is the way to go, as opposed to HID kits, but it's up to you.

^ Ha! Thanks Phil...

as for your questions, the headlights are OEM, projectors are OEM BMW.
What "k"? They are OEM BMW Bulbs meaning they are 41/4300k range, none of that ricey 15,000k ----.

And I have no need for the bulbs and ballasts, besides you cant use a plug and play kit with this setup if you already have one. You need the whole thing as it sits.

So its hard wired? Is it messy? Because i delt with a messy HID job for years now, but im kind of sick of not being able to just plug bulbs in when mine go out. I have to hardwire it. And its a pain. I want a good clean setup.
Let me know how yours is.

Its not hard wired, its kind of a plug and play. If you dont want to see all the wires and what not, install the ballasts and stuff inside your fenders. Thats what I did. You might as well do that since youre gonna replace the headlights at the same time.

Well actually a whole new front end is going on my car. I just want a clean setup. All my friends have nice ballasts, plug and play. And its all good. I never changed mine from when i bought my car, and the guy did a butcher job, hard wired crap.

Where are you located Big Hairy Gino where i could come check them out? Or do you have pics(easier) ?

Thanks

Don't worry Jonn,

I have pics as I was the one who had sourced the matierials and done the labour.

These are pics of the lenses before the Retrofit

And here are some of the pics after they were retrofitted with E46 Projectors. althought I can't find pics installed on my or BHG's Car.

Everything you need to hook up to your Car should be included i.e. Wiring harness and Relay, ballasts etc.
