hey guys...driving last night engine light comes on, i think nothing of it cause o2 sensor needs replacing. (known issue) secondary 02.
anyways speedometer stopped working and so did the odometer.
i checked the vss/alternator fuse inside the car and its good...any ideas??

i just pulled out the old cluster to make sure all connections were secure and not o ostructed, even replaced it with a type r cluster to verify it not being the cluster.

im thinking this is a vehicle speed sensor problem...

 

took the car for a rip on 401. engine light came in, never thought id be this happy to see it...now i could get the engine code.

drove it back to the shop, checked the code...
drum roll.........
P0500! ahhhhhh ---- NO!

apparently it means faulty or malfunctioning vss. ---- ME!
apparently its easy to remove it from the tranny, (2) 10mm bolts and people reccomend taking it apart and cleaning it as i really dont feel like spending $350 for a new one.

maybe itll fix it...maybe not.
anyone ever run into this?!?

 

I have 2 spare speed sensors from my 94 integra just sitting here. I know one of them doesnt work, but the other one was in working condition. I can give you them both for 20$ if you want. Let me know.
