I was trying to change the brake pads last night but the brake calipers mounting bolts wouldn't budge. I've never seen bolts on that tight. I am assuming there is probably loc-tite or similar on them since they've never been removed before. I've worked on brakes before but have never seen anything like this. It looks like too tight of a spot to get a torque wrench back there. right now it's soaking in PB Blaster, but I have rarely had success with that. Anyone seen anything like this or have any suggestions? thanks

 

Hmmmm well if it's never been changed could just be really seized on there. You did a good thing soaking it in a penetrating oil. Let that sit for 24 hours maybe get a couple more sprays at it. I find that an impact gun running of an air compresser does the trick great never had a problem with mine. If you can't get a hold of an impact maybe just try torching the bolts a bit so they get hot maybe they will budge afterwards.

Same thing happened to mine i tried heat, oil and impact gun and nothing worked i also think mine was never changed and as time went by it got seized there, 2 different shops tried to get it out and couldnt, sO let me know if anything works for you!

 

Thats odd..For me a 6 foot breaker bar always works. Either that or it'll snap the bolt

 

I've had problems with bolts before, as paul said try a touch if you have access to one(think of the torch a plumber would use if they came to fix pipes at your house).

Try tightening the bolt rather then loosening it, just enough to get it moving****No more then 1 cm or 2MAX*******. Then back off and try loosening it.

last option is to get a long hollow bar, put it over your wrench or ratchet and flex your muscle, it will come free
