just a few searches that I found relevant for my post

Anyway, my suspension setup right now is Tein S Tech Springs with 1st Generation Tokico Illumina (White) Shocks, OEM bushings, OEM Control arms. CV joints, inner and outer tie rods on both sides have been replaced, 1 finger gap all around

In June of 2007 I got new tires Falken Ziex 512 mounted on 17" rims (sorry do not know the offset) and by seasons end (June-Oct) probably 10,000km driven the inner edge of my two front tires were worn down to almost the radial, and the two rear tires are still intact with about 90% of tread left.

Tires were balanced and a front alignment was done

I thought it was toe wear that would wear tires out on the inside edge, however people have been telling me to get a camber kit and that would fix my problem.

I have never seen tires wear out so quickly before, my old set were Falken Ziex 502 (generation before 512) and those tires lasted longer than the new ones I got.

Now my question would I need to get a camber kit to fix this problem of accelerated inner tire wear? or was it a crappy alignment job, or could have something threw my alignment off due to the low ride height and 17's? combination of everything?

I need to get a new set of winter tires and I find no point in buying a set and watching them wear down within 1 season last my summers have, tires aren't cheap lol

Any help is appreciated

i say a lowered car should always have camber kits trust me ull need them

did you get the alignment before or after you lowered the car? lowering the car does affect the toe and not just Camber. get an alignment first cuz toe out chews up tires faster than negative Camber does.

Lowered cars dont always need camber kits, unless you throw it on coilovers or springs w/ Adjustable shocks and then SLAM IT, if its just lke OEM shocks and aftermarket springs then theres no need for a camber kit, in this case, yea, go get the alignment, it might have just been a crappy alignment job, cuz that happens a lot. So go ahead with that, and let us know what happens.

^ i lowered the car first, and did the alignment before i got the new tires (same time actually, i did the alignment and got the tires mounted at the same place)

It could have just been a horrible alignment job, did you take it back to the place that did the alignment?

^no i didn't, bc once tires start to wear unevenly they'll wear unevenly till the end lol

yea.. i kno that, but sometimes they will redo the alignment if it wasnt done right, this place did that for our TL when we got the alignment done.

yea it sucks, i learned the hard way
so consensus is no camber kit? bc I need to get a new set of winter tires and don't want to watch them run out on me in one season like my summers haha

get ingalls camber kit, they wont punch holes in your shocks.
