Default Worth the money?

King Motorsports 2.0L B18C

This is our top of the line B-Series street/strip/track build. This engine produces an amazingly flat torque curve from 3000rpm all the way to 8000rpm, perfect for an "all arounder" that may see use on the street, at the strip, or on a road course. We've also had several customers use this same package, with a slightly different header and cam package, as an all out road racing engine.

We start with a JDM B18C, have the block sleeved, and opened up to 84mm bore. Mains are align honed, crank is worked over and micro polished, complete rotating assembly is balanced. We use a custom high compression forged Wiseco piston hooked up to lighweight Carillo connecting rods. Genuine Honda bearings are blueprinted into the process.

Moving to the head. We work it into shape with our Stage IV cylinder head prep which includes a full port/polish, competition valve job, water outlet bypass, modified combustion chambers, intake and exhaust stud kits. We also add a heavily modified Type R intake manifold and a 64mm stock bored throttle body. Everything is port matched and put together with a Hondata gasket. For street use we spec a Skunk2 Pro1+ camshaft, for race a Pro2+. Supertech valvetrain and Skunk2 Pro Series cam gears complete the top end.

On the rest of the build we use all new Genuine Honda parts - gaskets/seals, water pump, re-worked oil pump, tensioner. The header is a 4-2-1 stainless race unit designed to maximize torque over a broad area. The Moroso steel baffeled oil pan is added.

We reccomend you purhcase RC 440cc injectors and a Hondata system to accompany this build. We have a solid basemap to run the engine and safely get you started in the tuning process.

**Please note that this is a complete engine package. No core is required. If you do have a useable core, you will be provided with a $3000 credit.

King Motorsports 2.0L B18C Engine Package - $ 12,999.00 minus the 3000 core credit.

how can they ask that kind of money, is it simply because of the King brand?

it depends how u look at it guys. a b18c cost anywr from 2000-3500 with sleeving and parts and head work iwould said its actully pretty fair. thats just me casue i cant do any of the work myself. i defenetly dont think is a rip off. the guy who did my motor and head charge me 4500 labor with my own parts. but the head is good for making 600+hp just hoping the block will hold it cause its not sleeved but all internal r fordge. so all that said i dont think this is really a bad deal. again dont hold my word on it just my 2 cent

COMPLETE JDM B18C5 (that includes a JDM type R tranny worth roughly $1000 give or take) from -------- = $5500

sleeving = $1000
forged pistons and rods = $1000
headwork= $800
head package =$800
IM and TB = $500
OEM parts = $200
header = $700

total: $10,500

minus the ITR tranny = $9500CAD

*take into consideration that i over estimated prices just to be on the safe side*

King Motorsports 2.0L B18C Engine Package - $ 12,999.00 minus the 3000 core credit

you mean to tell me that it costs approx $8200 to assemble/blue print a motor? :wtf:

if its only 500 dollar difference, its still peoples preferrance, many people are gonna want to have this motor because its pre built and saves a tonne of time, however im sure theres tonnes of car enthusiasts who go by the philosophy of built not bought and would consider this a total bunch of crap and a scam.
