i'm looking for thicker wire for my battery re-location, i don't think what i have now is doing the job, i beleive it's only a 4gague wire going to the back.

i've been doing some research, and was wondering if 100amp 3 T/W wire would be more than enough for the re-location?

any input would be great.

 

when i relocated my battery boat, i bought a set of jumper cables, and used that wire, it was the cheapest way to get 0/1 gauge wire, i dont know how well that wud be for a car application but its an idea?

 

2 gauge or 1 gauge should do it. you can buy it at any auto stereo shop

 

get a 2 gwg wire and there's a fuse block that you should get, i forgot what its called, but basically if the power gets shorted, the fuse block gets disconnected and all you have to do is press the button down and lock it back in place

but 2 gwg should be more than enough to power almost everything you have.

 

aparantly, this "100amp 3 T/W" stuff is more than enough but is only a 3gague.......if i got 1 or 2 gague, it'll cost over $100 just for a cut long enough to run to the trunk.

 

I use 4 guage and have no problems. I also have a 100 amp circut breaker after 1.5 feet of cable from the battery.

 

So spend $100 and do it properly.

Maybe your brother can find it cheaper...?

 

i went to a welding supply and bought a length of ground wire... i don't think you will find anything that can handle as much as one of those. plus they are cheap.

^why spend that much money when you can just look around and find something 80% cheaper that will do more than it's job. specificly, i'm looking for what was used in this install and it was bought for $22.

look up "welding supply" on yellowpages.ca and start making some phone calls... or you can probably get some at princess auto maybe. i got mine at a local TSC store but you guys don't have those in the city.
