Hi - new to this forum

I want to buy an integra but not sure if I should buy the GSR or the regular integra and add some mods to it - I was thinking cold air intake, headers, exhaust and a chip - I think the regular integra with these mods will be significantly faster and more torque as well but not sure - if someone has a similar setup or know any info about that and can give me advise/help, it will be appreciated

I/H/E is a good idea but the chip i wouldn't do. have you're your mods all done first then you chip you ecu....with a program made for your setup. this is ivolves tuning

 

Get yourself a GSR. the mods you speak off will give you around 20 hp max.
A stock teg is 140 hp.
A gsr teg is 170 hp.
If you can afford a GSR, then get yourself a gsr.

that's right. go ahead and get yourself a type r, then watch it get stolen. If you purchase a GSR, you can save about 3 - 4 grand and put that money into buying aftermarket parts. If you do buy a GSR, take off the badge that says dohc vtec.

exhaust header + exhaust + high flow cat = $1200

22 mm rear sway bar = $ 200 - $ 300

brace for the sway bar = $ 200
(the lower back end on all models of tegs, with the exception of type R is weak, so to avoid sway bar from ripping out, put a brace)

a set of konis with springs = $600 - 800

air intake = $ 300 - 400

skunk 2 intake manifold = $ 350

type R lsd tranny = $ 1300 - 2000

with some tunning, you'll have a car that's just about as fast as a type r and as good in every aspect except for the brakes, which you can address later; and if you decide to put a turbo in the future, a GSR engine responds better to turbo than a type R engine, because of the lower compression of 10.0:1 vs. a type R of 10.6:1
