Default what to do with the center caps?

so i also began work on the wheels i got off scott.. 14" 5 spoke teg se rims
using the same orbital sander i was using on my other wheels..

now i'll probably just not use the center caps altogether as they just don't fit the texture..

but does anyone else have suggestions?
ie. paint them black and leave the rest, or paint whole wheel gm/black, or what?

by the way, these are going to be my winter wheels

ah i thoguht after.. this should just be in pics/vids section..
i was kinda looking for "tips" per se, but.. nah just move it if you want admins

here's a couple chops.. though i dunno, i'm kinda getting tired of gunmetal/black wheels.. and if i don't do the gm/black thing then i still need to do something with center caps, or just not use them.. if i go black/gm, it's easy just to paint them so i won't need to worry

gm outer spokes

gm all of it

wait, what did you do to them? did you just sand them and leave them like that? if anything, don't put in the centercaps, they look alot better without them.

so far, yes i just sanded them.. but using a random orbit sander.. left a neat looking texture.. the clear was peeling and they needed some work regardless

since they'll be used for winter i'll probably put a shot of clearcoat over them..
and i basically was just thinking of not using the caps anyway, just keeping them aside..

i don't think i'll bother painting them at all, just leave em straight sanded, clear em, mount tires and use em... i mean, they're just for winter

the tires in the picture are shot and have to be removed, so i'm doing a lot of the work before i get all that done

btw fuzzy (judging by your sig), you got any pics of your black se's? and by se's, i assume you mean the wheel's i have in these pictures?

see i like how they look unpainted, but the center caps won't match..
and it's a lot of work to polish, and i'm not a fan of polished anyways, especially since they'll be winter driven too..

if i want to use the caps, i'd wanna paint it all to match the caps with the spokes, but i'm getting kind of bored with black/gunmetal rims.. and my teg is rosewood brown so bronze doesn't look right at all.. white i just do not want to do

i'd use duplicolor wheel paint if i were to do it, and they have limited colours.. if there was a lighter grey i'd be all for it..

maybe i'll look for tractor paint or something, and see if i can find better colours.. that stuff has got to be durable

well i test fitted the wheel on my car to see how it looks.. i like it without paint at all..
so now i gotta do something to protect it.. clear i could do.. but doesn't it turn colour after awhile?

also i'll probably ride without center cap.. i mean with steelies everyone rides without caps anyway and that's how i've always ridden, so keeping the snow off isn't an issue

so now.. recommendations for protecting the finish? since it's bare metal right now..

so since i got the tires off, i decided to work a bit more on the wheels..
sprayed some automotive paint stripper on them, got most of the clearcoat off the lips, and sanded around a couple of them

before

during with the stripper on them

and after a bit of sanding

fun fun
