i knoe it's a bit late but how do i figure out if it's still working if it's out of the car and off the engine?
there was no belt on it when it was in the car. but it spins freely. if it works i'm putting it in my car

hahaha no i got 2 i need to find out if atleast one of them works. if one does then all i gotta do is replace the seals in the system and get a recharge kit from partsource..if nothing works then i'm pulling all the a/c system out...saves about 50lbs vroom
