Guys, i'm suffering from an SFS...a Strong Fuel Smell...ok, that was lame

I'm curious as to why i'm smelling this everytime i take the ol' teggy out for a run. It's obviously coming from behind me and it gets stronger the further back into the car i follow it...almost like Toucan Sam...cept i'm not following fruit loops...

My first thought would be that because i've COMPLETELY gutted my car the odour would be more present because there's less to shield the smell from me.

I don't have an external fuel leak and i'm still getting awesome mileage (which is helping in these dark times), so i know i'm not losing anything.

Any opinions? suggestions?

your burning rich fuel? check yur rear bumper see if u see black specs thats carbon means yur burning rich fuel just like me!!!. i am cuz i need a vtec ecu for my swap

 

naw, my exhaust is perfect...new when i bought the car too...it's that wonderful smell you get when you're filling up...or pretty close to it...

i do have a gas smell addiction though...i should have noted that. this is better than any air freshener i'll tell you that! lol, jokes.

 

nope, perfect stainless silver bumper...not a spec on it...i know i'm not burning...i'm just smelling it pretty strong.
