Default Some of my pictures.

As some of you know I was in the market for a new camera, and I decided on the Canon Powershot S3 IS. The past 2 days I've been clicking away so here are some of my shots. A good thing to keep in mind is that I am by no-means a photographer, as I've only been doing it for 2 days now. I'm learning new things and picking up techniques along the way.

This one came out a bit blurred, so I'll most likely be going back soon to get a few more good ones.

I'm not happy with this one because it came out blurred, but what can you do.

You’re off to a great start! I really like the first shot and the one of the tanker.

yep, all that you do is take the gardiner all the way to the end, where it merges with lakeshore. turn right on Carslaw (there's a gas station at the corner), and go to the end of that street where the lights are. turn right (the street is commissioners) and follow that to the end. turn left on cherry st, and then right again where there's a big sign at the corner. take that to the end and there's a parking lot that's always open and the board walk is right there.

thanks alot man, i've been playing around with the settings and the newest ones are much better, and all of those have no editing in photoshop, except for border and watermark. so i'm happy with the outcome.

and nautica, those pictures have the exposure open longer. so basically i have the aperature at F8.0 on manual settings, so that means there's less light coming in, and i set the exposure to 15 seconds.

I decided that all I had were night time shots so I thought I would go out and see what this can do day-time.

^^ i don't use photoshop except for adding the border and the watermark. i did use it in the toronto skyline because it came out noisey, but other than that, those pictures are straight off of the camera. the noise could be from your ISO setting, I don't know much about trouble shooting cameras but it's an idea. I usually have mine set around 80-100. rarely go over.

the camera was around $650 or so after everything. I got the boxing week sale from henry's. that was for the camera, carrying case with 4 rechargable battries + recharger, 4 year warranty, 1mb memory card (had another $35 mail-in rebate). the camera is around $499 now.

i only use manual mode, and if you go to the link i list the settings i used in the description in terms of shutter-speed, aperature and ISO.
