Just have to give props to my boy Peter for hooking me up with some new track tires for a CRAZAY price. He's been mentioned b4 but here is his email: supershyguy_2000@ yahoo.com
I got the Azenis RT-615 in 205-40-16 for $600 total
(sorry for the quality of the pics, they were taken on my camera phone)

Crazay tread....better than the old 215....this one has a rain channel.

HKJ 05-09-2006 10:45 AM

gonna try those after my rt215's are done. lemme know how they do!

Laura 05-09-2006 11:06 AM

Id like to hear more about these tires as my Azenis sports are almost done and it will be time for new ones soon. I hear these ones are better for wet traktion but have a softer sidewall.... if you were going for track tires, why not get R-compounds?

Smartass pHO 05-09-2006 11:37 AM

Laura is right; the new 615s do have a softer sidewall than the old 215s. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though, as they offer similar levels of grip and the softer sidewall actually communicates better.

Smartass pHO 05-09-2006 11:38 AM

BTW: I'll probably go with the 615s as well, when my 215s die. Should be sometime in the next few months, although I might be able to make them last the year...

RRRex 05-09-2006 05:44 PM

Nice. I just picked up a set of Hankook Z211s or whatever they're called - but a nice aggressive street tire - not too different from the Azenis. Be neat to see what they're like.

A common mistake for people who are starting solo 1 and solo 2 is that they get R compounds when they are starting out. The problem is that the soft compound will correct many of the mistakes that the driver does and will cover up any bad habits that have been formed. I've only raced for one season and I feel I'm still not ready for an R compound tire. I speculate that I'll be ready in 2 more seasons of solo 2 and then I'll upgrade to an RA-1.

100% agreed with this statement. Btw, nice tires, let us know how u like them!:yeah:

P0sTaL_RS 05-09-2006 10:34 PM

I can say that the tires RT-615 are one hell of a sticky tire.. wet not the best but hold better then the 215 but the 615 are good and hold

Supershyguy 05-09-2006 10:46 PM

Hey whats up guys. Thank you for the feedback! :willy:

but ya. I have sold about 20 sets of 615's this year. and every single customer that got them loved them.
