Default painted the girlfriends car.

im so happy the warm weather is coming, get to paint again and work out side. anyways this is a few pics of what i was up to last weekend.

last weekend the girl friend wanted her car repainted (same as her jetta) a custom metallic pink, i had half a gallon left from last summer and a little bit of a pearl pinkish purple so i mixed it up a bit and reduced it and had a good gallon before reducing alone so i was pretty surprised cause i can do it again if she gets dings and ---- cause its not something i will want to match later on Lol.
anyways i was running around like my head was chopped off cause by sunday i was done the body work and needed clear coat, and you think i could find it anywhere? nope everywhere was closed (im in dunnville) and i called a few places in hamilton and nobody was open, so i ended up in the falls to go get clear. finally i got the clear home and did her up, finished it up monday cause i never had time and it was chilly the sunday night to clear coat it so i only sprayed the base coats and then after work i tacked it and cleared it up, untaped it that night and pulled it out of the garage in the morning and thats the end result.

i also made steel evileyebrows and welded and moulded them in too.

the gril friend has all the body work and welding pics on her comp files and i cant access them thru mine etc.. i will and post later on tho.

p.s. if anyone is interested in getting there teg frehened up for the spring/ summer let me know to, this is done only with 1 coat of clear too and not even wet sanded yet. usually do 2 - 3 coats wet sanded in between coats aswell.

nawazz i just work from home and have done this kinda stuff since i was about 15 years old Lol. i just do it as a side thing and pay regular price as anyone else off the street does. but i'll tell you this, if i have enough interest in doing a few cars i would register myself and open an account by my work and prolly get stuff cheaper. if i dont have to get myself registered then i can still see about an account, but most likely to get stuff at cost im sure you need to be tho.

thanks bvan, same color as the girls 95 jetta just no flake Lol. dont you remember when you came out here?

depends really. pm me your needs and i will see whats good for you.

How to watch out for overspray, where's the best place to start painting the car? (top to bottom or bottom to top), how many coats/clear coats, wet sand, etc.. Thanks, I'd reeeealy appreciate it!!

jeff
ya its my only time where i actually have a full day or 2 of solid work cause by the time i get home from work in hamilton its 6pm. it does help that it gets darker later cause i get more time, and the weather getting warmer cause it helps speed the drying and curing time with the clear.

XSI
yeah i can give you a shout or you give me a shout when your ready

JEEP
actually thats funny cause i saw a pinkish color sunfire that was a stock color to yesterday, we went for a walk in dunnville (small *** town) and one drove past. girl friend was mad even though her's is was different up close and or side by side. so we are gonna be doing a lighter metallic pink tribal design on the side with a white tribal pin stripe. plus when the door jams get painted im using the same light pink to airbrush some playboy bunnies in the door jams.

1sickda
i will pm you. need color and condition info on bumper.

Bvan
lol that thing has been there for years. Lol its what i ahd alot of my parts in but its where i parted/ stripped the integra in the winter. was used for horses back then but i use it as a garage for myself. ripping it apart in the summer and re insulating it and pouring cement inside too.

josh
ya man with you being in smithville now too we gotta go for a coffee sometime still.

thanks for all replies.

DOHCnoTEC, I am highly interested in getting one of my cars painted by you. It's a 1994 Honda Civic Si 2 door currently plum/primer/yellow rust paint. My girlfriend and I took care of the rust and did the bondo work ourselves, then sprayed on a few coats of primer then a few coats of some yellow rust paint for the time being so it could sit in the weather safely. All I would be asking you to do is the final sand and spray, we want to do it a nice yellow colour, I trust your instincts, we were looking at something along the lines of Honda S2000 yellow. Oh and don't worry we had a guy that had been doing body work for years help us finalize the bondo work that we did so it came out really nice.

I live right near you too, and I was looking to get this done very soon, as in I would bring you the car tomorrow if you were down for doing the job. There is nothing else wrong with the car, and it's not on the road yet so you would have plenty of time, we do want to put it on the road in a couple weeks though.

If you can provide me with your email either here or PM it to me that would be great, I will send you multiple pictures of the car I'm talking about and you can name your price and I will pay it, that is some really quality work done on the Sunfire, especially for only one coat of clear so far.

Oh one more thing as for the yellow paint, we're just looking to do the outside, so yeah we wouldn't need the door jambs or the bay sprayed, if need be later on could get it done but for now the car is just for a few years so we're not looking to get that much done.

Anyways yeah if you could provide me with your email I'll get you a bunch of pictures and we can discuss if you would be able to do it or not.

If you can fix dents then I would ask you to paint my car too, its staying the same colour, Milano Red, and I would be fixing the rust and etc. myself again I would just need you to do the dents and the final sand and spray.

Thanks, let me know.
