Opinion on this cf hood- 30$
This guy from texas is going to give it to me for 30$. its carbon fiber. but is in the forst condition. Do you think its fixable. Like even if i sand it and paint it black. i just want it for the light weight

No!
It's wrecked. Think of shipping from Texas. That could rip right in half at a good speed with the existing cracks in it. Spend the money and buy a more structurally sound hood, many CF hoods fade and then people get rid of them.
This is a very good question I would also want to know. If it is worth fixing. Is it even possible to sand and paint over it? Another question I would like to know.
its 60$ to ship from there. plus 30 for the hood
I can't quite tell from the picture, but is the giant crack fixed up already?
It would require a heck of a lot of work to repair.. more than it's worth IMO. |
No its not fixed.
i guess ill saveup like 400$ for a nice new crisp one. |
you could fibre glass it and sand that then paint, but depends on how much work you wanna put into it.
but then you wont see the carbon fiber look anymore
well if you want to see carbon fibre, then that hood is a complete write off.
he should give it to me for just shipping cost. get it off his hands for a favour
lol i saw your post on g2ic.... your a carbon fibre repair specialist?
It could be fixed, but it will take alot of work to make it look good, and it will not be light wight after all the bondo and fiber glass you would need to fix that.
My friend has a shop in buffalo...i just said that i am for short talk.

so why not get him to do it? if they can fix it up really nice, then no use in doing it yourself. if it costs like 200 to fix, still better than 400 new.
its 120$ to fix, because I know him. im not sure though. i want a nice crisp one
don't waste your time.
personally i wouldn't even bother with a CF hood. i almost bought one for cheap. i drove to sauga to look at it and the skin was separating from the skeleton. |
Check ur pm buff
buy a new one or a good used one..dont waste time on that
yea, the guy hasnt messaged me yet anyways.
not worth fixing.
When I got my front end it came with a carbon fibre hood but it was really scratched up I was just gonna sand it down and paint it black but I look at the hood and was like this is way to cheap. I would wait for someone that is selling a used one that is faded but not that damage. Save your money for the swap and the parts you need dammit lol
Why would you consider even purchasing this piece of garbage?
You drunk or stoned or stupid? |
crap
what company is he using to ship up here?
