that looks beautiful. i'm generally not a fan of bodykits, but it flows very well with your wheels. does it have a transtop?

Mike> Paint isn't perfect, believe me haha, but I am VERY picky and the job was good enough to keep me happy. No matter what, it's a LONG way from the crap paint job it had when I bought it.

Jeff> I'm not a fan of body kits either, this is the first car I've owned with side & rear skirts... I'm still getting used to that haha. Transtop, I WISH, I hear you basically have to weld the rear of a JDM Sol to your car for it to work properly.

Okay so here are some progress pictures & my story (56K don't even think about it)

Some of you saw that car last year, it was basically just asthetics and suspension work:

October 1st, I dropped in a JDM B18C (GSR), ACT clutch/flywheel/pp, msd ignition, ITR valve cover, and a few other tid bits. I took the car to Montreal for SCP and on the way home, I got spanked on the highway by my friend's K20a2 01 Civic coupe. I'm not a racer, but we were trying to stay awake so we did 3 highway pulls. The first 2 runs, I got a jump start on him but he beat me all 3 runs. I was cruising in 5th, dropped into 3rd and punched it... by the time I hit top of 4th, he was in 5th and pulling away from me. I was SHOCKED... my car's WAY lighter, rolling on 16"s, I had 2 people and a couple bags. He has a boat coupe with 4 people, full audio, 18"s, full body kit and just pulled away from me.

So yeah, I don't think I should have tested my car because after that, all I could do was think K. But if I was gonna do K, I may as well go all out hahaha.

I posted up my motor at the beginning of November, found a buyer, started ordering parts and waited till after my exam to pull it all out. The second week of December I drove her to the shop and the madness began.

Pulling out the motor (Dec 10)

I spent about a week after work just cleaning & stripping the engine bay and re-routing the wires for the wire tuck.

Towing her to Velocity (Dec 19)

Install the mounts and throw that sucker in (Dec 30)

I'm using an RSX rad, so I have to cut and weld the lower rad brackets

Saturday morning (Dec 31), we install the Karcepts shifter kit. It's basically a mounting kit made to sit underneath the car so you can use an RSX shifter box and retain a normal shifter position. Another option would be to use a CD5 Accord or BB1 Prelude shifter, but the feeling is no where close to an RSX box.

I finish off the motor wiring, it's very simple with the Hybrid Racing harness. I just had to keep it clean so I rerouted & lengthened the charge harness to run alongside the wiring harness.

Once I'm happy with the wiring, I started to strip the car down. Removed all the weather stripping, interior panels, tucked away any wired in the trunk, etc. (Jan 5)

Back to the body shop... they start off with the trunk, door jambs, fix the rust along my roof weather stripping

Some new parts come in as I'm waiting for paint

I also ordered some new stipping from Honda, and basically scraped off all the red paint on the trims (worst paint job ever).

It felt like forever at the body shop. I dropped in every other day and it seemed like nothing was getting done (as usual). Then one day, I walk in... and she's painted haha.

So I tow her back to the shop (Feb 17)

Overall, the swap is very simple... it's really just a waiting game. If anyone plans on doing a K, start planning months in advance. Give yourself a good 2 months time for all the install parts to arrive. The biggest items arrived FAST, while the small things took FOREVER!

If anyone needs help or advice with a K-swap, just shoot me a PM... I compiled a complete list of parts needed to do the swap.

And now for my speech: I'd like to thank God first of all, the boyz at A.R.T. Motorsports, Precision Rim Repair, Ignited Performance, the kids at OptionJDM, Velocity Autobody

HAH, sorry for the long *** post

mad props, your cars just keep getting better and better. One question, do you think you can spank your friends k20 civic now? Is there a blower in your future? What did everything cost? (you know you were gonna get asked this question)

Wayne> I'm sure I could beat my buddies car now... he's running a similar setup, but he's still using a stock RSX-S header so he's loosing alot of power right there. He's probably in the 200whp range while I'll be in the 210-212whp. We'll see in a couple weeks when I bring her out to the dyno.

I really don't think I can handle a charger on this motor, guys on the K20a board are getting numbers close to 300whp with chargers... that's just insane. I was thinking of MAYBE dropping in a set of cams, people are seeing about 250whp with valve train upgrades.

The car is just so fun to drive now, not like any other EG/DC/EK... It just wants to keep going and going. 5th gear and the 407 are my new friends haha.

Cost... I'd rather not talk about it, especially since I did everything at one shot. If anyone really planned on doing a K swap, they should expect to spend more than $10k. There are short cuts you can take here and there and if you did labour yourself, I'm sure someone could do it for about $8500-9000 with a a2 motor.

Amanda> Don't say that... it's not a teg

Sujeev> I thought it looked pretty good before haha

John> Send that!!!
