modded the beater LOL

My sleep schedule is all out of whack and it was too late/early to go out and do anything so i decided to tinker around with the beater car.

after a little bit of heat from an oven and a little bit of paint, my end result is this.

Attachment 18532

gonna have to adjust my headlights after taking them off the car and taking them apart but it shouldn't be too bad

Nawaaz 12-01-2007 09:54 AM

hess village is closed at 4am and so is daves shop where my motor is at. i figured i'd experiment with the lights. i got bit by the modding bug with the beater but not bad enough to spend too much money. next might be a 96-97 accord front lip. can't refuse it for $40

Blacktie 12-01-2007 05:08 PM

apparently from what i read on g2ic, yes they can. of course, this is after some trimming. the 94-95 works too but i like the 96-97 better. if it doesn't work i'm only out $40.

Simon: you shouldn't been there when Dave got kicked out of the casino. LOL

Blacktie 12-02-2007 11:25 AM

i kinda like the 90-93 lip lol i think its cause ive been seeing it everyday for the last 15 yrs lol

you have to heat them up and pull them apart then pull it out (you might need a screwdriver) but for once on a DA it won't be siezed! then you add some caulking or whatever you want to use heat it up and stick them back together!

smith_customs 12-03-2007 09:10 PM

sweet thanks you can put it in the oven @300 for two minutes then they should come off easy

yes you do! put that block together!!:mad::mad: wanna fight?

Buff4Prez Yo 12-04-2007 06:07 PM

to take the headlights apart take the metal clips off and put them on baking sheet lined with tin foil. preheat the oven to 275. once preheated put the lights in for 7 min. once out of the oven use a flathead to seperate the lense by twisting the screwdriver to separate. if the lense is still warm you might be able to pull it apart by hand. to take off the glare guard just unscrew them from the housing. to put them back together, just press the lense and housing back together reinstall the clips and put it back in the oven for 7min at 275. the clips and the heat will pull it back together, if not, just press them in by hand.

Buff4Prez Yo 12-06-2007 03:42 AM

^if you do it on your 1pc lights, godspeed. i don't have the balls to do it to mine. i'm to afraid of ------' it up. stock 3pc lights are way easier and cheaper to replace that's why i wasn't afraid to do it to the beater.

smith_customs 12-06-2007 08:40 AM

nice going to do it as soon as i figure out how to take them of there housing
