Rota wins again :laugh1:

JEFFOS69 04-05-2006 12:24 AM

I have to say there are pretty damn smart - they realized the wheels everyone likes are too expensive so they make decent quality (obviously not as good as the originals but good enough) copies and they sell shitloads. Those bastards I needed to do that.

HKJ 04-05-2006 12:37 AM

i think those have been out for awhile now.. rota is killing it with the copies, even 'show cars' rock rotas at the shows, and win! haha

FuzzyLS BRO 04-05-2006 12:39 AM

i'd rock em, and take the money i saved from buying real ones and put it into the motor.

fliptEG 04-05-2006 01:03 AM

i have no problem with rotas, they make some light weight rims, give you the look you want, and are cheap.

dc24me 04-05-2006 01:15 AM

where can i get those centercaps?

Buff4Prez Yo 04-05-2006 01:16 AM

yo those things are badass!!! i might just have to give up on the c8's and get those

boost obsessed 04-05-2006 03:30 AM

what are those a copy of??

Rotas are cool with me as long as people dont front them like theyre the real deal (ie: Putting RSZR stickers on Rotas, thats just ------- lame.)

Blue Dragon 04-05-2006 03:13 PM

The only people who hate Rotas are the ones who paid $$$ for the real ones, and then realized that the average person can't tell the difference, or that it doesn't make a difference on the street.

not me. i paid for the real ones twice and thought it was cool that rota came out with the slipstreams, because it just made me appreciate the real ones that much more.

when i had my 16" spoons, i had a lot of fun messing with people who kept asking if they were real when i got them back in 2001. if they couldn't tell the difference, they didn't appreciate them and didn't deserve to know. then i sold them to one of my roommates and he was also asked on occassion if they were real. one time we told a couple of jdm ricer kids that they were a set of slipstreams where we customized them to look like real spoons by putting bondo over the rolled lip to make it flat like a real spoon and painted them bbq black. i have a buddy with a set of rh cp035s who was asked in a parking lot if they were real because they noticed one of the faded racing hart stickers on the side of his lip. his answer, "they're rota subzeros and the previous owner put those stickers on." i have another buddy who has a set of enkei rpf1s. he took off the stickers so people would think they are spun knockoffs.

i'm glad they came out with rszr replicas. it makes me appreciate the real thing that much more.

real genuine wheels make or break the car. in my opinion, the real wheels make the car feel more classy, refined, distinguished and mature. i'd rather take a set of oem wheels over a set of rotas personally. like i said, that's just my opinion. if you like your replica rotas or spun or whatever knockoffs, buy them. just don't hate on me because i won't.

Thats exactly what Im talking about! When I had the ALT's on my car it felt cheap, considering I didnt cheap out on my other mods, why did I cheap out on my wheels when theyre a huge part of the car? They looked good but the car felt cheap and unfinished. So I said ---- it and sold them, got me a set of 5Zigens and the car still felt cheap. ;)

Hehe I was gonna buy that set off that dude from TCC, thats where you got them right? That guy was asking alot for them and by the time I wanted to buy them he told me they were pretty much sold. Then he messages me back a few days later telling me they were still available. Good choice on the rims though, I love the color and theyre rare!
