Juancito's build thread

ive decided to keep the integra for now, im sure it will grow on me.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6904572_n.jpg

now begins the build i want to keep it fun so i had an idea since dont plan to put it on the road right away money i would spend on insurance will go towards the build, call me rice but it shall be an ebay build unless i find some cheap local parts on craigslist or local shops.

yet i want to keep it clean and classy.

the things i know that will need to be fixed and replaced are as follows

new front lip ( crack on the right side)
new front turn signals
new valve cover gasket
some rust on rear quarter panels and on bottom of trunk
vertical crack on the cover that goes over instrument cluster.

so guys i want ur opinions which i will make into a poll next week then i will make the purchase each purchase i will make between 40 to 80 dollars maybe more if suspension related and such.

Vida 06-03-2010 10:44 PM

You pay for quality man. Ebay stuff is stuff i wouldnt really touch too much. For suspension at least dont cheap out.

juancito117 06-03-2010 10:48 PM

no no i wont cheap out on suspension trust me on that but im talking about mods not pertaining to performance like hids, steering wheels, lip kits, spoiler, etc.

dont plan to spend much money on it since will be saving to buy an dc5 when i go on vacation to fl they are dirt cheap there

D.T.P 06-03-2010 11:07 PM

Things like lips are not any cheaper on ebay after you pay shipping and customs fees. You can get lips quite cheap fro OptionJDM. Keep your eyes open in fs section.

juancito117 06-03-2010 11:07 PM

thnx for the info i will be looking

Datenshi 06-04-2010 09:32 AM

Yeah you might as well pick up stuff locally, we've got quite a few shops that carry all the stuff you're looking for. You need to learn the spots eventually anyways ;)

AcuratePaul 06-04-2010 11:29 AM

ya you can get lots of stuff local.

Looking forward to your build thread thou sounds exciting.

juancito117 06-04-2010 11:30 AM

now we are talking!

juancito117 06-04-2010 11:31 AM

so guys the point of the thread would be that it would basically be built by u guys so i need your input on first mod

Vida 06-04-2010 11:38 AM

Just by looking at the car I say get the HIDS, wheels and suspension first

juancito117 06-04-2010 11:39 AM

hids ok what kelvin?

Datenshi 06-04-2010 11:46 AM

6000K's are my favourite.. they are what's in my teg. 8000k is pretty cool too though.

I'd pick either 3000K or 12000K for your running lights.

juancito117 06-04-2010 11:48 AM

ok 6k or 8k for low beams and 3k or 12k for highbeams (drls)

Vida 06-04-2010 03:28 PM

Your asking us what looks better on your teg? Its cool, we can do that but how about you look around at the differences and make up your mind on what YOU like. Its your build.

juancito117 06-04-2010 03:35 PM

lmao well this teg u could say it will be TI's build i dont have any expectations for the car in itself as making it my own per say since im planning on buying another vehicle, so i want to make it interesting and build it using a poll system for each buy

AcuratePaul 06-04-2010 03:38 PM

I like the poll thing but it's your car should be built the way you want it built. But since you don't care I think it's a fun idea a TI build :).

juancito117 06-04-2010 03:42 PM

yea a ti build came to mind like a have a lil piece of everyones style in the car and if u guys want to help installing that be cool too

Vida 06-04-2010 03:44 PM

FIRST THINGS FIRST!!! Click on my Signature and get some Toronto Integra stickers. Those are a MUST.

Next, get 6000 or 8000k Hids. then we can figure something out to slam the car to the ground ;)

juancito117 06-04-2010 03:49 PM

stickers come last lol ok so far everyone is telling me to get hids ima make a new thread to open the poll this weekend and it will end next week .

Vida 06-04-2010 03:58 PM

a poll for what....Hids?

Just look at some and choose what you like.

I get the poll idea for major stuff like suspension, wheels, maybe a few other crap, but for HIDS?? thats just retarted

AcuratePaul 06-04-2010 04:14 PM

He can poll what type of hid's such as the brightness of them like 6k 8k 10k and so fourh.

juancito117 06-04-2010 04:30 PM

thats exactly what i mean!

Datenshi 06-05-2010 09:45 AM

12000k drls, 6000k headlights. <-- my vote.

Vida 06-05-2010 10:30 AM

FIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine ill vote

DRL's = no HIDS, hell take out the fuse and run with the sidemarkers on only. and low beams 8000k hids

But im biased.
My HID's

juancito117 06-05-2010 01:23 PM

ohhh never thought about the drls that be hot and im stuck between 8k and 10 k im aput up the poll on monday morning

does anyone have a pic of a teggy with 12k drls?

also tho cops here locally give ---- about hids on a car that did not come factory with them

Vida 06-05-2010 02:06 PM

12 K is close to pink. Looks gay, and cops will hastle you. In terms of the ---- you get from HIDs, yes its true its "illegal" but because soooo many people have them its hard to follow through with that rule. Ive been pulled over, got my car inspected by cops and they never gave me ---- for them. Its like exhaust, its to the discretion of the cop. Ive heard stories of people getting ---- for HID's but its really rare.

juancito117 06-05-2010 02:11 PM

ok what do u guys suggest for drls i really think i want hids for drls now

Datenshi 06-05-2010 02:20 PM

Nah cops don't care about HID's. They're "safer" than halogens.

ok heres my thought. BIG ASS EBAY bodykit, 4 tier spoiler, neons EVERYWHERE! wooden steering wheel, 6" exhaust, 20" rims with rubber bands as tires and for the final mod.... 8 different color paint with flames from hood to rear bumper. now thats a build! LMAO!

I have 8K HIDS and love them,. im also running corner lights as my DRL's. My suggestion is NOT to run corners as your DRL's simply because i have it done and I havent seen anyone else with it, so dont copy me! lol

Neon_Dave 06-05-2010 04:16 PM

The problem with HID's is the fact that they produce a ton of glare and inconsistent beam patterns on headlights that aren't made for them (which is a very long list).

Too bright, too much glare, too blue? = Hassled by cops (at their discretion). Notice also how many people have to adjust the angle of the beams on their headlights once HID's are put in.

Just some food for thought. I personally am not that big a fan of them.

In any case, looking forward to seeing the build take shape!

juancito117 06-05-2010 04:33 PM

thnks guys yeah the only car i had hids installed was the 3kgt since it comes stock with projectors, but after seeing it on a couple of tegs i want to put hids on it for sure

JustinDM 06-05-2010 06:03 PM

IMO I think that your vehicle build by use of polls is an innovative idea. However I think that you should have the last say in what goes on.

Such as, we vote, you pick the top three or something, b/c in the end, you're the one that selling it when you get a new whip, you're the one that's driving it, and ultimately it's your money that's being used.

BTW I say 6k, the light is nice and white.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w_U-uVVSO0 (somewhat funny commentary)

juancito117 06-05-2010 08:03 PM

yes u got it on the nail justin

my idea is for me to provide the blank canvas, set up a poll and give u guys the option of what color and materials to use, and create a "mona lisa" no pun intended to tokyo drift.
