The GTR with high grip tires
Just another case of the Japs running R comps while everyone else is on streets. All these best motoring vids are rigged

LivinLow 11-30-2005 10:27 PM

With the amount that comentater mentiond those damn tires i don't think it could have been rigged.

It's a dead giveaway

Made no big differnce the Porche still won. I don't see how it could be rigged the GTR didn't win.

No brainer... 3 AWD on a track consisting mostly of corners  it's no coincidence that the 2 RWD were left in the dust.

Blue Dragon 12-01-2005 06:45 AM

My point is that the jap cars were on R comps which give a huge advantage on corners. AWD doesn't give you a huge advantage in corners over RWD.

A048s baby yeah :p

WildoutWhiteGSR 12-01-2005 10:35 AM

how did you know the jdm cars had R-comps, they didn't mention it in the vid. They just said hi grip tires

Maybe not a huge advantage, but when the competition is that tight, that's all it takes. Look at how unstable the ferrari was in that one shot when he tried to lay down the throttle around the apex. AWD would help significantly with grip, when entering corners the braking on an AWD is far more superior, when exiting 4 tires turning = better grip, greater exit..... besides I'm not sure about anyone one else but I find it much easier to keep momentum and control with a car that is understeering rather than one that is oversteering. Maybe I'm wrong but it just seems like common sense.

^^ The only advantage AWD gives you is you are able to put down the power a bit sooner, but a perfectly balanced chassis like a ferrari chassis will negate any advantage by allowing more cornering speed through trail braking where the AWD would understeer, etc. Don't put too much faith in those videos, they are stacked against the non jap cars.

AWD has no advantage in braking, and on a track, you want a neutral car, not one thta understeers.

Trenell, its been proven already that in all the best motoring vids, the jap cars are running R comps. Its so blatant in this video when the commentator dumbs it down for the average person by saying high grip.

Remember, tires turn, and brake the car. That means that the car on R comps can outbrake, and out corner a car on street tires. On a twisty track like that, I don't care how much horsepower you have, you will get caught and passed in the turns if you are the car withouth the R comps.

^^^ Anyone notice that Wayne has been hating ever since he got the emtree? j/k

I remember the bike vs. car debate... ---- I hate those bias kind of track analysis videos unless it involves 2 chicks neekid or IDB!
