look for a code stamped in it somewhere.

rubby-d 03-23-2011 05:40 PM

i actually did for like an hour couldent find nothing at all man ..

3sgte@daspeedof 03-23-2011 08:26 PM

I don't know what it is, but I know its not a gsr intake. I have one, and it doesn't look like that.

AcuratePaul 03-23-2011 08:43 PM

B series are so similar...def not a gsr.

It doesn't look like a B18c too me looks much different then mine but it could be a different spec therefore looks different.

MPR 03-24-2011 10:39 AM

Couple things I noticed,

-It doesn't look like any b-series vtec valve cover that I've seen
-There doesn't appear to be any vtec solenoid next to the dizzy

My guess is it's a b18a/b or b20 intake manifold.

AcuratePaul 03-24-2011 12:44 PM

^^^^ ya your right looks like a non vtec valve cover. My guess is on b20 manifold.

rubby-d 03-24-2011 04:08 PM

It is a b18c I started striping it thats probably why it don't look like one ..

Is this suppose to be a GSR motor or Typie?

rubby-d 03-24-2011 05:46 PM

All I kno it's a JDM b18c butthe head has stamped p72-1 so I think it's Gsr no idea , payed 300 for the whole thing minus the alternator , tore it down and only thing wrong with it was it burnt oil and had a small chip from an exhaust valve .... The head prolly isent from this block but meh it was all there lol and she was cheap and it's getting fully rebuild due to it being pieced together ......

rubby-d 03-24-2011 05:49 PM

I'd like to build a deec N/A what all should do for performance, is it possible to put ctr pistons on it , will ther be piston to valve action???

rubby-d 03-25-2011 11:15 AM

what intakes fit on the gsr?

AcuratePaul 03-25-2011 04:54 PM

That won't be a gsr I just realized that the gsr's manifold faces the other way.

rubby-d 03-25-2011 04:57 PM

yea the one with the butterflys....but dont ppl change them to this type of intake lol cause the butterflys suck?

im just curious where they normaly get the intake from like what car lol

MPR 03-25-2011 05:08 PM

It is a GSR head if it has P72 stamped on it. That means it is not a b16 or b18 type R intake manifold, because they do not bolt up to the GSR head. It must be an aftermarket intake mani of some kind.

And yeah, I feel stupid not because I forgot the vtec solenoid on the b-series heads were in front of the dizzy, which is why you couldn't see it in the first few pics. lol.

Is there anything stamped on that intake manifold anywhere?

The GSR intake mani with the butterflies is supposed to create a more flat torque curve, but it ends up causing more harm than good in terms of peak power so most people ditch it for an aftermarket mani, similar in design to the b16 and type R mani.

rubby-d 03-25-2011 05:10 PM

no me and a bud tried find a stamp ..nothing , but i never took the TB off .

do you kno where it would be stamped?

AcuratePaul 03-25-2011 08:23 PM

B18c also have a P72 stamped on the block.

MPR 03-26-2011 12:33 PM

GSR heads have P72 stamped on them. B16, B18C/C5(type R) and B17 heads all have PR3 stamped on them. So this must be a GSR head with either a modified B16/type R or aftermarket intake manifold.

rubby-d 03-27-2011 06:36 PM

yea cause all i kno is the block is a jdm b18c and the head is probly gsr lol , i thought the type-r engines wer p72 also lol

MPR 03-27-2011 09:39 PM

Google search.

rubby-d 03-27-2011 09:41 PM

no need lmao , i have what i have lmfaoo
