Yet another.....Problem

i dunno if i'm just picky or what... but everytime i drive my car and something makes a strange noise or stops working.... i HAVE to fix it, it just nags at the back of my head until i do. so anyway, i just redid the brakes on my car, new pads, rotors and calipers all four corners, and now i'm hearing an annoying ticking from the front right wheel. its not the brakes rubbing or anything, they are fine, i already checked that out already. is it ball joint, bearing, etc.?

any ideas? and how much it might cost?

thanks guys

Could be your CV shaft/boot, could have a hole or tear and could have taken out the axle shaft, do you hear more when cornering?

SOR 08-25-2009 04:19 PM

nope, the sound is steady when driving, or cornering. sound speeds up and slows down relative to vehicle speed

That sounds like a CV shaft.

not a bearing eh? ok shoot.... how much is that to fix? can i DIY it at all?

check your tires get the rocks out of them.

lol. yeah its not that. (though i did check) the sound is kinda like metal scraping metal... but in a pulsing manner. so it causes the funny ticking sounds

well since you just did the brakes most likely it might be the metal dust shield that might have gotten bent in and is rubbing i remember having the same problem
